A Halloween Shaker Card

Today, I have a Halloween shaker card to share.

I was totally inspired by the shaker card that Betsy Veldman made and decided to make

a similar one, using some Reverse Confetti goodies.

I started by diecutting my black card stock with the rounded rectangle die

from Class Act Confetti Cuts and then trimmed it out to make a frame with my paper trimmer.

I also die cut the apple from Class Act Confetti Cuts (which I turned upside-down to make my pumpkin) and the crow from Cast A Spell Confetti Cuts.

I also die cut the end of the broomstick from Cast A Spell Confetti Cuts to make my pumpkin stem.

I die cut the larger circle from Circles 'n Scallops Confetti Cuts from some Authentique patterned paper to make my moon and the vellum clouds were die cut using

the wings from Fabulous Flamingo Confetti Cuts.

I filled my shaker with some 4mm Lemon Meringue sequins from Pretty Pink Posh

as well as some tiny black stars that were die cut using Stars Pretty Panels Confetti Cuts.

I masked one of the sentiments from Cast A Spell with washi tape before stamping it on my moon.

Coffee Lovers Blog Hop

Well, I'm not a "coffee lover", but I am a lover of making cute coffee-themed cards,

so I thought I'd play along with the Coffee Lovers Bloghop.

I decided to break out my Reverse Confetti Be A Barista set for the occasion.

I was playing with some "coffee house" ideas, and decided to go with a chalkboard

technique card, so I gathered up a bunch of my Reverse Confetti sets and made this:

The background was stamped with versa mark and heat embossed in white 

using sentiments from In a Big Way, Class Act, Forever Fall, 

Lots to Say & Petals 'n Posies.

I die cut the banner using the largest tag from Tag Me & stamped the Be A Barista

image and sentiment in versa fine black and then heat embossed it in clear.

Then, I stamped the foam in versa mark & heat embossed it in white.

I paper-pieced the stripe on the mug using aqua mist card stock.

Tag You're It Challenge #7

Today, I have a card to share that I made for Tag You're It Challenge #7

where we're being inspired by this fabulous card by TYIC Designer Gayatri Murali:

I was inspired by the design of Gayatri's card and used it to create my card.

I used some some Crate Paper patterned paper and chipboard embellishment.
I die cut my tags using Papertrey Ink's Tag Sale #5 &
stamped my sentiment (from Summer Sweetness) in mint & berry sorbet.

CAS(E) This Sketch #94

Today, I have a card to share that I made for

 CAS(E) This Sketch #94 by Donna Mikasa:

For my card, I decided to pair some Webster's Pages patterned paper

with my Reverse Confetti Fabulous Flamingo stamp set.

I stamped the flamingo body in lavender moon ink, once on my card stock

panel and a second time on my die cut "you" (from Tag Me, Too Confetti Cuts).

Then, I repeated this process with the sentiment (also from Fabulous Flamingo).

I stamped the beak & legs in gold.

I die cut two more word die cuts and layered the three die cuts together.

I added some 4mm Pretty Pink Posh Marshmallow sequins as a finishing touch.

Papertrey Ink September Blog Hop

It's the 25th, which not only means that there are

three months left until Christmas,

but that today is the Papertrey Ink Blog Hop, and,

as is my custom, I'm playing along.

This month, we were given this photo to inspired us...

... as well as some colour combos and sketches.

I decided to just combine the colour combos to make my cards.

Here are the cards that I made, using the sketches...

For my first card, I did use the card as a starting off point, but strayed from it just a bit.

I stamped my sentiment from Wet Paint Holidays in enchanted evening and

added a coordinating diecut.

I stamped the flowers from Bells & Boughs on some diecuts and

added some branched on my card background.

I impressed my card using my PTI woodgrain impression plate and

inked the edges in soft stone.

The patterned papers are Crate (grey polkadot) and My Mind's Eye (blue woodgrain).

For the second sketch, I used the same patterned paper and sentiment stamp set.

I diecut my banners with the Get a Handle On It die

and added some simply chartreuse felt leaves and autumn rose buttons.

For the third sketch, I added some felt poinsettia using my Pretty Poinsettia dies

with autumn rose, scarlet jewel & simply chartreuse ink.

Again, I inked my background with soft stone ink and impressed it with the

woodgrain impression plate.

I created the banner with the Get a Handle On It die &

stamped the sentiment with Wet Paint Holidays.

And, lastly, I have a fourth card to share that I made using just the photo as inspiration....

I stamped the container from Wplus9 Fresh Cut Containers in versamark

and heat embossed it in silver.

I stamped the berries using Wplus9's Fresh Cut Florals stamp set & cut it out by hand.

I cut a slit at the top of the container and inserted a few FCF diecut berries.

I stamped my sentiment using Wet Paint Holidays in scarlet jewel and heat embossed

the "blessings" in silver.

I diecut the edge using Edgers#3 & impressed the background

using the Striped impression plate.

Do you love coffee?

Personally, I don't.

I actually don't like any hot beverages.

But, I do enjoy making cards with a coffee theme

for my coffee-loving friends. ;)

Some Super Quick Cards

So, last week, I got an email from our church secretary asking me to make

some birthday & anniversary cards for our local nursing home.

I do this every September and enjoy making cards for it.

However, this past week was crazy....

I worked four days and spent my day off prepping for Sage's birthday party.

But I thought, no problem, I'll make them on Sunday.

Well, Sunday turned out to be a gorgeous day, which we took advantage

of by going for a walk in the Pembina Valley.

A congregational meeting after supper took up most of my evening.

Since I was scheduled to work on Monday & Tuesday (& the cards are due Wed.)

I knew that I needed to get them done..... and done quickly!

I decided to use some premade Anna Griffin embellishments that I'd picked

up last spring at my LSS.

I paired them with some Reverse Confetti stamps

to make some quick CAS cards.

For my first card, I used the birthday sentiment from Beautiful Banners.

For the rest of the birthday cards, I used the birthday sentiment from Label Me.

For the two anniversary cards, I used a combination of sentiments.

I masked the "happy" from Bring On The Merry & stamped

the "anniversary" from So Very Special.

So, by limiting my supplies and letting these gorgeous

premade embellishments take centre stage, I was able to get

these nine cards made in less than an hour,

which made me pretty happy!
