Hello Spring

Hi there! I'm popping in today with a card I made to welcome in spring!

Now, you might think of the Chickaniddy Crafts Scrumptious as a fabulous fall line --
which it is indeed -- but I found that these products were also perfect to make a "Hello Spring" card!
(Note: I know I'm being overly optimistic with making a "Spring" card in February --
especially when we probably won't see spring until the end of April (but a girl can dream, right?)

I started with the Scrumptious Journal Tag stickers, or more specifically, the "Hello" floral sticker near the bottom.

Here's my card:

I started by diecutting a piece of Check Please patterned paper with a scalloped rectangle die.

I adhered a piece of white card stock over top that I diecut using a stitched rectangle die.

I wanted to use the "Hello" sticker from the Scrumptious Journal Tag stickers, but I also wanted to add the word "spring", so I trimmed out the sticker while it was still on the backing and cut it in half, like this:

Once cut apart, I adhered the sticker to the white card stock panel.

I made a banner by diecutting the New Harvest patterned paper into a long banner, trimming
down the top and bottom and adhering some Twirly Girly alphabet stickers.

Here's a close-up of the sticker once the card was done:

Cas(e) this Sketch #112

Today, I have a card to share that I made for
CAS(E) This Sketch #112 designed by Chrissy Larson:

Isn't this a cool sketch?
I'll admit that I was a little stumped, but then I remembered my large Simon Says Stamp Hello Die
and decided to use it to make my card.

Isn't it fun? I'm pretty pleased with how it turned out!
I used some PTI stamper's select white, sweet blush, berry sorbet & aqua mist cardstock.
I stamped the sentiment (from PTI's Wonderful Words: Hello) in berry sorbet ink.
The enamel dots are My Mind's Eye.

Visit CAS(E) this Sketch to see the rest of the DT's takes on the sketch
and to play along, if you'd like.
You have until Thursday, March 5th to link up your card.

Papertrey Ink February Blog Hop

Well, it's the 25th of the month, which means it's time for the Papertrey Ink Blog Hop.
This month's challenge was to use this photo as our inspiration:

Isn't it pretty?
Well, I'd like to say that my card this month came together easily, but that wouldn't be true...
I started over quite a few times!

My first idea was to do a smooshing technique on my background, but
I gave up on that after several failed attempts.
Then, I tried watercoloring my background with ink,
thinking that I'd cover it with some white butterfly diecuts, but that didn't work out either.
However, I did like how the butterflies looked layered over the watercolour,
so I started over and made this:

I used the PTI Life is Beautiful dies and watercolored the die underneath using
the inspiration photo for the colours.
Then, for my sentiment, I salvaged one of the "failed smooshing technique" panels
and diecut my Wonderful Words die from it.
I stamped my Wonderful Words Additions sentiment (inked all the way in PTI tropical teal
and half in Memento Lilac Posies).

I going to give this card to a friend of mine who's moving away.

A trio of baby cards

I'm just popping in this evening to post three baby cards that I made

For all three cards, I used PTI's Heart Cover Plate for my stencil
and some transparent embossing powder.
I diecut my banners from Heidi Swapp patterned paper using PTI's Get a Handle on It
and stamped the sentiments using Simple Sentiments.

I stamped the cat from Cat's Meow on some Teresa Collins patterned paper
and cut it out by hand.
I did the same for the next card.

And my last card is a pink version:

Here, I stamped the fox from Hello, Foxy on Heidi Swapp patterned paper.

Cas(e) this Sketch #111

Today, I have a card to share that I made for
CAS(E) This Sketch #111 designed by Lesley Croghan:

I decided to rotate the sketch 90˚.
Here's my card:

I started with some Shimelle patterned paper.
I diecut the ticket journaling card with the journal card from Reverse Confetti's Documented Confetti Cuts.
I did the same with the vintage cream yardstick behind it.
Then, I diecut along the top of each one using the dotted border die from Office Edges Confetti Cuts and tore it away, leaving the effect of tearing a ticket.
I stamped the sentiment (from All About You) in versa mark and heat embossed it in seafood white.
Then, in place of the heart, I added the @ from Documented Confetti Cuts, which I diecut
from vintage cream and fine linen card stock and layered them together.
Some stitching along the top finishes it off.

Visit CAS(E) this Sketch to see the rest of the DT's takes on the sketch
and to play along, if you'd like.
You have until Thursday, February 26th to link up your card.

Using leftovers

Just popping in today to share a card I made using some leftovers from a couple of projects.

I was making an Easter card for an upcoming CAS(E) This Sketch post and
thought this Crate Paper patterned paper would work well as the background, but it didn't.
So, I used it on this card instead, along with a Pretty Pink Posh diecut (that
was left over from making another card, where I used the negative of this oval die).
I stamped on it using Simon Says Stamp's Blessed stamp set
and added a couple of PTI buttons to finish it off.

Better late than never

I realized this morning that I never shared the Valentine's tags that I made for my Sunday School small group.

I used PTI's You're a Masterpiece stamp set, along with PTI's Tag Sale die & Envelope Zipper die.
I made them the same, but changed up the colours for the boys & girls.

Here's the girl's version, which I stamped in pure poppy, hibiscus burst and aqua mist.

And here's the boys version (I switched the pink for tropical teal).
The pull here stamp is from the Love You to Pieces Mini Additions stamp set.

I adhered the white tag to an aqua mist tag that had this verse printed on the inside:

I'm really pleased with how they turned out!
I wrote a note to each child on the back.

Papertrey Ink Anniversary Challenges: Day 7 & 8

Happy Valentine's Day!
Do you have anything fun planned for today?
My son, Jonah, is singing at a wedding that my husband is doing the sound for...
And Sage & I are attending a taekwondo demonstration this afternoon.
So, nothing really romantic, but fun nonetheless. ;)

I have some cards to share for the PTI anniversary celebrations.

The first one is for Day 7: Heavy Metal Challenge.

On some stamper's select white cardstock, I stamped my butterflies (from You're a Masterpiece)
in versamark and heat embossed them in gold.
The sentiment is from Layered Banter Banner.
A trio of Pretty Pink Posh 4mm gold sequins finishes it off.

Next. I have a card using the same butterflies that I heat embossed in black and painted in with ink.
(I actually made these last week when I made the first card in this post.)

Now, I have to say that I was totally inspired by Maile Belles' card to make mine.
Since I didn't have the stamp she used for the colours at the top, I used three different shades of PTI ink (from top to bottom: tropical teal (twice), hawaiian shores (twice) and aqua  mist)
and applied them to my card with a Tim Holtz blending tool and some post-its that I used as masks.
The sentiment is from Simon Says Stamp's Blessed stamp set.
And, once again, I added some Pretty Pink Posh 4mm Sparkling Clear sequins.

One more sleep....

It's one more day until February 14th and I have one more Valentine's Day card to share.

I made it using some of the
new January release products from  Reverse Confetti.

I started with a white cardstock panel, on which I stamped the leaves from Love Blooms
using the rock 'n roll technique with limeade ice and Hawaiian shores ink.
I diecut three of the flowers using Love Blooms Confetti Cuts from sweet blush cardstock and
stamped the flowers using a combination of sweet blush, hibiscus burst & raspberry fizz ink.
I diecut the banner (Beautiful Banners Confetti Cuts) and stamped the banner outline using Beautiful Banners.
I then curved the Puppy Love sentiment on my stamp press and stamped it onto the banner.

I diecut the "you" from Tag Me, Too Confetti Cuts three times and layered them together.
The sentiments are from All About You.
A few Pretty Pink Posh Marshmallow sequins finish it off.

A Stitched Sentiment tutorial

Hi there! I'm here today with a card (& a tutorial!) to share that I made using

I started with three pieces of Scrumptious patterned paper: Frolic in the Leaves, New Harvest & a floral pattern from the 6x6 paper pad.

Here's my card:

I decided to use a diecut word as a template for my stitching.
Here's what I did:

Here's a close up of the finished stitched sentiment.

After I was done stitching, I added some strips of Scrumptious patterned paper.
I diecut the floral paper from the 6x6 paper pad with a heart border die and adhered it to my card.
I trimmed the "grateful for you" banner by hand (it was on the back of the New Harvest patterned paper.

Oh, and before I go, I just wanted to let you know that
I also have a card up on the Bazzill Basics Blog today.

Can you guess what die I used to create my puzzle piece?
