In December, my online friend, Julie Overby had a give-away on her blog.... and I won!
When the package arrived in January, Sage and I had a great time examining the goodies and divvying them up (I can't not share goodies with my best girl, now can I? Well, I probably could, but Sage can be very persuasive.;) ) She nabbed the Little Yellow Bicycle Cupcake love patterned papers, as well as the imaginisce Imaginisce Twitterpated ones.
I, however, called dibs on the My Mind's Eye Breaking Free Sun Kissed collection, which included rub-ons, die cuts and patterned paper.
A couple of weekends ago, I attended an all-day Saturday crop and took out these new goodies and created 6 layouts with it.
Here they are:
This layout took me forever to do. We got to the crop at 9am and this is the first layout I made. I finished it at 2:30pm. The journaling is about the newspaper front page that Austin made at the beginning of grade 6 and how he named me as "his hero". He wrote: “Mom is a great, caring, loving, joyful person who is awesome. She is greater than great.” When I saw this for the first time at the student-led conferences in November, I was so touched! I asked if I could keep it & know that I will treasure it always. I made a pocket with the die cut paper and tucked the newspaper front page in it.
I took these photos of Sage at the park this past summer. I'm not sure why she was making these faces, but they sure made me laugh! I used my new Tim Holtz die and Cuttlebug.
A layout about the new splash park in town. I used the tags that came with the goodies, as well as my alphabet dies to make the title.
A layout about Austin and how he likes to help me in the kitchen. I used my new alphabet dies with my Cuttlebug.
Using my favourite photos taken at the beach this past summer. Ah, good times! Again, I used my new alphabet dies with my Cuttlebug.
And lastly, some photos taken at the Manitou pool this past August. Here I used more die cuts from Julie, as well as my Fiskars stamping press to stamp my Calico "summer" stamp along the side of the photos.
Thanks for looking!
(And thanks again to Julie for the goodies-- as you can see, I made good use of them!)
