1. I'm so glad it's Friday! I've been feeling quite tired this week. Not really sick, but just not a lot of energy. I'm thinking that a low-key weekend is just what I need...
2. I told the kids that for the advent treat today, we would go see the new Muppet Movie in the theatre tonight.
3. I also promised Sage that we would get our tree up this weekend. For sure.
4. I attempted to make another layout for my latest Pages With Papertrey challenge (create a layout in less than 30 minutes), but it ended up being closer to 45 by the time I was done, which is still pretty quick for me. (I had both printer and sewing machine issues!) I decided to speed things up by using this sketch from the October Afternoon blog. I also used this week's Make It Monday at Papertrey Ink: ribbon pleating.
I used Bazzill (black) and PTI cardstock (rustic white), My Mind's Eye patterned paper and brads, a PTI Half & Half die and some ribbon from my stash.
Here's the journaling:
The title is what was on our ticket stubs to see the movie. :)
5. My friend, Marlo gave me some scraps at my Crop for the Congo with the challenge to make a card with them. So I obliged:
I used PTI cardstock (smokey shadow, aqua mist), stamps (Think Big Favourites #7) and dies (mat stack #5, Turning a New Leaf). The patterned paper is My Mind's Eye & Crate).
Thanks for looking!
Beautiful LO and card! We too, want to get our tree up on Saturday. Have a great weekend, Leigh, hope you are feeling better next week!
ReplyDeleteTwo great projects. I love the layout. It was so clever of you to incorporate the movie ticket as part of your title. I love the Harry Potter books, but have not seen any of the movies. I will miss this series.
ReplyDeleteThe card is fabulous. I love the pattern paper in the background. Love the mat stack 5 combined with the Think Big Favorites. Since I have not used any of my Think Big Favorites, perhaps I need to get the mat stack 5.
Great layout (love the title!) and card! You are rockin' the ribbon pleating! :)
ReplyDeleteI hope you can have a restful and restorative weekend. I am impressed that you could do a layout in 45 minutes. When I was scrapping, I would take about 8 hours for a 2 page spread. You probably can guess why I am no longer scrapping! Great card, too. Good for Margo to keep you on your toes.
ReplyDeleteLove your LO Leigh! Great take on the sketch. And I must agree with Joyce on it taking a whole day for a 2 pg LO. It is a good thing that I am not counting the time I've taken to think my LO through for our challenge since 30min will be tough. You did fantastic!
ReplyDeleteLove your card and layout page , cute picture of the two of you. I will never forget when that first HP book came out . My son would read and read until he was done. He would even stay in his PJ’s all day. I was happy to see him so into a book at such a young age.
ReplyDeleteBoth wonderful Leigh.
ReplyDeleteThe books were amazing and it was wonderful to see the movies and watch the kids grow up! Love your LO! I did 2 today!! One for your challenge *and* incorporated the pleating too :). Now to see if it actually makes the blog in time for the contest, lol.
ReplyDeleteGreat layout! i have not scrapped for months already, but everytime i see your layouts, i am enabled everytime :) Love the color combination on your card!
ReplyDeleteFabulous the lot! Particularly smitten with your card. Loving the spotty TANL growing out the top of the MS5.Very sweet.
