With the big four-oh looming over me this year, I've been thinking lately about my age and how I feel.
I honestly don't feel thirty-nine, unless thirty-nine feels like twenty-six, because that's often how old I feel.
(Oh and, one of the black belts at our black belt development day on Saturday thought I was 26-- her age! So sweet!)
One of the big differences that I do feel however, from twenty-six, is how comfortable I feel in my own skin. I like who I am. I am totally someone that I'd choose to be friends with.
Sage took this photo of me recently and I decided to scrapbook it & journal about me, at thirty nine... I created this layout on the back of this one, because I couldn't bear for this pretty patterned paper to go to waste....
I used Crate patterned paper & fabric brad, Making Memories chipboard letters & My Mind's Eye decorative brad ("39"). The "@" brad I made using Echo Park patterned paper, on which I printed out the "@" & a SU! build-a-brad. I also used Papertrey Ink cardstock (rustic white, pure poppy, raspberry fizz), stamps (pretty peonies, BB:retro (on the red cardstock)) and dies (heart border die-- to make the scalloped edge on the raspberry fizz cardstock.)
Here's a close-up of my journaling:
How about you? How old do you feel?
Thanks for looking!
Love this page and your journaling!
ReplyDeleteI'm turning 40 this year and want to do a page like this....thanks for the inspiration.
ReplyDeleteLeigh, I just love this! I honestly don't think I have even scrapped a page about me. I guess I should, huh? The page is beautiful, the journaling so real. I love that! Thanks for the inspiration.
ReplyDeleteI love your work, and just started following your blog. I feel a LOT younger than I am!
ReplyDeleteI just turned 39, and I agree with you about feeling at home in my own skin. I like me, and I'm so glad I can say that. I like you, too!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great page. I learned so much about you, even though we talk all the time. I turned 50 last year, and do NOT feel that old. I have to remind myself that I am not in my thirties anymore.
ReplyDeleteyou're only as young as you feel, right? beautiful page, and so fun to get to know you a bit better! I've been thinking lately: my kids' lives are so well documented, but I'm so shy to be on camera - let alone scrap about myself - that they won't be able to look back and know these little things about me. This is such an amazing gift to leave your kids one day!
ReplyDeleteThis is great Leigh! I love pages LO's that chronicle the scrapper. I have 30 looming in August and so far, it's not really bothering me. I do definitely feel younger than 25, though :). I guess that's a good thing, right?
ReplyDeleteI really love it! Wow, you are really blooming at 39!
ReplyDeleteLove the layout, love the journaling, and I love how you used the back of an existing page! Funny 26 is the age I feel even though I am more than twice that! Age is just a state of mind.
