With my photo a day for the summer challenge, when we went for a bike ride to run some errands the other morning, I asked the kids if we could take some photos. Here's one I got that made me smile:
Austin was on his scooter due to a blown tire on his bike. But Jonah & Sage were working on some kind of a synchronized biking routine or something.... look at their hands in the air!
Sage said she wanted to take a photo of me on my bike, so I handed over the camera and took a spin. Most of them were blurry, but I thought they had a cool, artsy look to them. ;)
2. Ever since Sage was in kindergarten, her school has been fundraising for new playground equipment for the Grades 1 & 2 playground. Well, this past week, they set it up. Unfortunately, Sage is going into Grade 3 in the fall and won't get to play on this playground at recess time. But fortunately, we live only a couple of blocks from the school, so my kids can enjoy it still.
3. We've been spending a lot of time at the beach. At least three visits there a week. I've been telling my kids how lucky they are... when I was growing up, the closest beach was 1.5 hours away. Colert Beach, is just outside of Morden... a five minute drive. So perfect!
Yesterday, we met our friends, Mandy, Raiden and Keenan there...
I loved watching Jonah play with the younger boys! With Austin volunteering at the library, it was neat to see Jonah be the oldest and how well he played with the others.
He was so great to engage 3-year-old Keenan in a water fight-- I think he has a friend for life, now!
4. I got some very cool "Moxie Fab" news this week...
On, Tuesday, I was chosen as a Tuesday Trigger for this card that I made for their last Tuesday Trigger challenge.
And then on Wednesday, my card was chosen as one of the five winners for their Hooked On Hexagons challenge.
5. And before I go, I wanted to share the third card that I made using this week's Make It Monday at Papertrey Ink: Double Time Bleach Stamping. On Monday, I'd set myself up on the patio table outside with my stamps, inks and bleach and stamped the cardstock for the two cards that I shared already this week, and this one.
Truthfully, this one didn't turn out as well as I'd envisioned, but I decided to get creative to salvage it. I remembered this card that Kara had posted on the weekend and thought that this sentiment treatment might work for my card, too. So I used the stamped cardstock as a mat for my card, as well as diecut out the front portion using my limitless layers oval dies.
I used PTI cardstock (rustic white), stamps (the sweet life) and dies (limitless layers ovals 3.5"). I stamped first with the bleach, then with winter wisteria, twice. I did the same technique for the leaves, as well, with spring moss ink.
Have a great weekend!
Thanks for looking!
