A productive afternoon
Well, I managed to get five cards made this afternoon and I thought I'd share them all in one post.
The first three I made were for today's anniversary challenge at PTI using their free printables. I really liked three of the printables (Dawn's, Maile's and Heather's)and decided that rather than trying to choose between the three of them, I'd just make three cards.
I started with Dawn's graphic to make a masculine birthday card. I used some Crate (green) and My Mind's Eye (off white) patterned paper, as well as some PTI stamper's select cardstock. The teal is SU! Island Indigo cardstock. I diecut my green patterned paper with my PTI tag sale #5 die and then diecut a second one so I could incorporate this week's Make It Monday at Papertrey Ink: the Diecut Double Up. I used my 1 3/4" circle punch to punch out the printable and to punch my hole in my patterned paper diecut. I adhered the tags together using SU! dimensional adhesive.
For Maile's graphic, I decided to pair it with some sweet blush and melon berry cardstock. I decided to use some Mama Elephant stamps-- they just suited the graphic so well! I used my PTI Notched Flower dies and 1 3/4" circle punch to again create a Diecut Double Up (I'm a little addicted to this technique this week, I think!)
And for Heather's graphic, I cut it out and rounded the corners. I added some twine and buttons and then adhered it to some aqua mist cardstock using dimensional adhesive. I finished it off by matting it on some fine linen cardstock and adding some stitching.
I also decided to create a couple more cards for yesterday's challenge at Papertrey Ink. This time, I was inspired by Melissa's first card.
I decided to use my Funky Florals stamp set with my Notched Flower dies. I also used some MME patterned paper and button accents. The cardstock is PTI (rustic white, terracotta tile) and the sentiment is from PTI's Pretty Peonies. The leaf is Echo Park patterned paper diecut with a Turning A New Leaf die.
And lastly, I was inspired by Jessica's second card in the first column:
And here's my version:
I used Finen Linen and Stamper's Select White cardstock, BB:Herringbone and Tremendous Treats: birthday stamps, a PTI double-ended banner die, buttons and a MME wooden accent.
Thanks for looking!
Wow, you 've really been very productive, Leigh! I love all your cards. But I think my favourite is the one from Maile's. What a genius to use the notched flower to do the die cut double up technique. I should remember to try that sometime. - Irma
