Spring colours

While hopping around online yesterday, I noticed that there was a Colour Crush Challenge on the Pink Paislee Blog. The challenge is to use the colours in the following photo on a project:

I decided to make a card and a layout using these spring colours. I also used this week's Make It Monday at Papertrey Ink: Collage Elements on both of my projects.

For my card, I stamped a collage using PTI's Text Style I (in Winter Wisteria, stamped off once), Turning a New Leaf (in Summer Sunrise) and Birthday Style (stamped in Sweet Blush). I added my sentiment (from Stylish Sentiments: birthday) in Versafine ink. I adhered this to a Hawaiian Shores mat and added stitching. I diecut a Papertrey Ink Tag Sale #7 from a sheet of Pink Paislee patterned paper, added some twine from my LSS. The chipboard butterfly is Pink Paislee. With my blending tool, I added some Sweet Blush ink to it before adhering it to my card.

I am also linking up this card for this week's Simon Says Stamp Challenge: Happy Birthday.

For my layout, I used Inspired Blueprints Sketch 88:

I was thinking that for my layout I might need to use some black & white photos in order to make this colour combo work, but I came across these photos from last June which worked perfectly (sigh... how I cannot wait for summer to arrive! Actually, at this point, I'd settle for spring! LOL!)

The background patterned paper is Pink Paislee, as is the strip of coral pink. The yellow patterned paper is My Mind's Eye.

Here's a close up of my stamped collage, using PTI's Text Style I (in Hawaiian Shores) and Birthday Style (stamped in n Winter Wisteria once and then stamped off once). Again, the chipboard butterfly is Pink Paislee which I inked with Sweet Blush ink.

The journaling is a tag that I made using some Pink Paislee patterned paper (from their Portfolio line) and a PTI Tag Sale #7 die. I used two more Pink Paislee butterflies, inked in Winter Wisteria and Hawaiian Shores (& some Spring Rain to create a different coloured striped pattern).

For my title, I used Lily Bee Design letter stickers (yellow) and PTI Modern Alphabet uppercase dies. These were diecut from Hawaiian Shores cardstock and then stamped with Hawaiian Shores ink using BB:Herringbone.

Thanks for looking!
