I am beyond thrilled to be joining in on a Designer Blog Hop for Paper Crafts Magazine! They're celebrating the release of their latest special issue, Birthday Creations, Vol. 3!
Our challenge for the blog hop was to create a birthday card using one of three sketches. Here's the sketch I used (it's based on Jennifer McGuire's card that can be found on page 11 of this issue).
And here's the card that I made with the sketch:
I used some Crate Paper patterned paper for my background, to which I added some stitching. I added a panel of vellum, which I also stitched to the card. I stamped a feather stamp from Clearly Besotted's Fancy Feathers three times on another piece of vellum, heat embossed them with clear embossing powder and fussy cut them out. I adhered these to the vellum panel.
For my sentiment, I stamped a Bountiful Banner stamp onto it's coordinating diecut and added a birthday sentiment from Boutique Borders: Birthday. These products are all Papertrey Ink.
I am giving away a copy of Birthday Creations, Vol. 3. So, please leave a comment on my blog by Tuesday, July 16th to be eligible to win.
Next, you'll want to hop on over to Erin Lincoln's blog. Here's the full list of the designers who are also giving away a copy of this issue on their blogs:
Leigh Penner (me!)
And you'll also want to visit the Paper Crafts Connection Blog, as they have a giveaway there as well!
Thanks for looking!
