Sage & I have been getting ready for her upcoming ninth birthday party.
This week, we worked on the birthday invitations and
some of the tags for the food table.
I thought I'd share the invitations with you today.
Sage found some African wooden skewers at a garage sale this summer,
which prompted our theme. However, I thought it would still be fun
to add a little glam (& pink!) to the theme...
For the background, I stamped Kelly Purkey's zebra stamp on some white cardstock.
I was disappointed with the coverage, though, so I decided to heat emboss it with black embossing powder. This gives it a nice shiny texture!
I stamped the animals and part of the sentiment from PTI's It's a Jungle Out There,
"Birthday Party" is from Fresh Squeezed Stamps Life of the Party.
I'm linking these up to this week's Simon Says Stamp Challenge: Animal Antics.
Thanks for looking!
Very cool! The student I interpret for loves zebras. (she's 14)

ReplyDeletei loved the sneak peek you showed me, but just had to tell you again :) can't wait to see how Sage's party comes together!
ReplyDeleteThese look great Leigh! Did you try inking with versamark then straight onto the black ink for better coverage? I find that this trick helps a lot with background stamps.
ReplyDeleteThese turned out great! Sounds like a really fun party!
ReplyDeleteI absolutely adore this birthday card! First of all, the zebra and giraffe images are so fun! The color scheme you used on the card is also great and I just love the zebra background stamp!
