With different posts planned for the past two Fridays, I thought I'd post a "six for Saturday" post to catch up a bit....
1. First of all, I'd like you to know that there are currently two blog hop giveaways on my blog.
2. Sage decided to get a haircut this week:
Isn't it cute?
We weren't sure if it would be enough to donate for Angel Hair, but the hairdresser said she'd send it off.
Here's the photo I took of her at home.
And the best part: no more tears while trying to brush out her tangles! Yay!
3. We had Jonah's party on Wednesday.
We had a bit of a Doctor Who theme....
He & Sage each invited two friends and we went to the pool in Winkler for the afternoon.
Only one of the friends was able to come back to our place for supper (Subway subs) & cake (Dalek).
4. I realized that I haven't shared my Monthly Moments Album for May or June yet.
Here's May:
I kept this spread fairly simply, using some We R Memory Keepers journaling cards.
On the second page, I also added a PTI MM:May die cut.
And here's June:
Once again, I used some We R Memory Keepers journaling cards, as well as a 4x6 journaling card from Studio Calico.
This card already had "June" printed on the large colour block, but I decided that I wanted to stick
with using my MM PTI month dies so that the font would be the same all the way through.
So, I trimmed a piece of Berry Sorbet card stock and adhered it over the SC June block.
And here's a close-up of the second page:
5. I have a layout to share that I made using this week's
& photos that I took of my kids on their last day of school.
I started with some Crate Paper patterned paper as my background.
I stamped my title using PTI's Wet Paint Alphabet stamp set.
I created my border for the MIM challenge using two of my Summer Sweetness dies --
one for the top and one for the bottom. The middle one is a stand alone die cut that I added in.
I stamped them using the coordinating stamp set in colours to match my kids' tops.
I die cut the flag using the banner from Reverse Confetti's Tag Me Confetti Cuts.
The sentiment is from Summer Sweetness.
For my journaling, I decided to make a summer bucket list using my PTI MM: June stamps.
6. I also created a card for this week's MIM,
using the Beautiful Brushstroke feather stamps & dies.
It's hard to tell that I used the technique because I layered a second feather die cut over top, but I did. Really.
The sentiment is stamped using Wet Paint.
For my card, I was inspired to use the latest Curtain Call Inspiration Challenge: Bow Tie.
I was inspired by the colours in the photo.
I hope you're having a great weekend!
Thanks for looking!
