Well, things are winding up around here with our school year....
only 1.25 days left after today!
Here's what we've been up to....
1. On Sunday, we had Cameron's family over for Father's Day.
It was so nice out, we ate outside.
Here is Sage holding Gloria, my great-niece. Isn't she adorable?
2. Austin asked me the other day:
"Have you ever wanted to make a rainbow cake?"
I replied that yes, I have.
So, I suggested that we make one together on Saturday for our meal on Sunday.
Here's how it turned out:
It was fun, but it did take a long time!
3. I got to go along with Sage on her field trip on Tuesday.
We went to Lower Fort Garry with all of the Grade 5s from her school.
We got a tour in the morning (in French!) and then in the afternoon, they got
to build models of a Red River Frame House...
and a teepee:
I'm always so glad when it works for me to go along on field trips with my kids!
4. Today, Sage & I are going to Winnipeg to take my mom to
Cirque du Soleil for her birthday.
I've never been before (other than a free open-air performance I experienced at the
Montreal Jazz Festival in 1994 -- they were doing acrobatics off the side of the building!)
and I'm really looking forward to it!
5. On Sunday, we had our Sunday School Wind-up.
I made some cards for the kids in my group to tell them how much I loved
having them in my group and to wish them a good summer.
I used some favourite Reverse Confetti products:
I made a girl version and a boy version by switching out one colour.
I stamped my background using stamps from Color Me Happy.
Then, I stamped my sentiment (from Let's Chill).
I diecut the popsicle from the front of the card using the Let's Chill Confetti Cuts and the
stick from a piece of classic kraft cardstock
(which I stamped with the coordinating stamp from Let's Chill.)
Do give the popsicle dimension, I diecut it from a piece of Bazzill Basics foam
and stacked them together when I reassembled the card.
To add some shine to my popsicle, I pressed the diecut into my Versamark ink pad
and heat embossed it in clear before adhering it to the foam.
Thanks for looking!
