Today, I have a card to share for this month's
This month, I was inspired by this gorgeous card by Laurie Willison:
Since I don't have the Butterfly Cover Plate that Laurie used,
I decided to use my Life is Beautiful dies.
I inked my background panel using Raspberry Fizz, Orange Zest and Summer Sunrise inks.
I flicked some water onto my panel.
I matted it on some white cardstock and added my diecut butterflies.
I diecut some black cardstock using the banner from Get A Handle On It
and heat embossed my sentiment (from Choose Joy) in white.
Thanks for looking!
your card is just as beautiful and you don't even need to buy the cover plate - i was going to buy the coverplate and then decided i have that same set as you and con do without it.
ReplyDeleteSpot on! Beautiful card.
ReplyDeleteIsn't it great when we can "make it work" with what we already have? Beautiful card Leigh!
ReplyDeleteJust gorgeous, Leigh! And so creative to use what you have. I just spent my PTI gift certificate that I won from you, so thanks again!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! Your background is so well done. I also decided to use my crafting $ on other things knowing I had Life is Beautiful. This release has some beauties.
ReplyDeleteOh wow Leigh!! This is stunning!! I LOVE the colors you used for the background!!
ReplyDeleteWELL DONE!! I was wondering if the Life is Beautiful Butterflies could achieve the look:) SUPER!!
ReplyDeleteSo lovely!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous! I love the inked background so much!
ReplyDeleteNailed it! Beautifully done, Leigh!
ReplyDeleteIt's a beautiful card, those Life Is butterflies have many uses! I just used one yesterday for a card.
ReplyDeleteThat set was a great purchase. Thanks for your idea and the color combo.
What a beautiful card. I love the background and how the butterflies pop off the card.
ReplyDeleteYour card is gorgeous, Leigh! I had the same idea to use the butterflies I already own (since I didn't buy the new die), to recreate some of the beautiful samples done by the DT. Thanks for showing how well this will work!
ReplyDeleteWho needs the coverplate when you can recreate it's look like this using the Life is Beautifui dies. A near match, Leigh. right down to the inking.
ReplyDeleteThe two of us were thinking alike...somewhat anyway. Yours looks like it was several steps fewer than me using Betsy's card. Great job being inspired by Laurie!
ReplyDeleteso bright and cheerful!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous take on Laurie's card Leigh!
ReplyDeleteOh this is really lovely! The Life is Beautiful butterflies are so close to the new cover plate.
ReplyDeleteWOW perfect!! You knocked it right out of the ball park lol!!
ReplyDeleteI love this! The bold colours and those delicate butterflies... such a perfect match!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful card!!
