Stamp-a-faire 2016 -- Part I

Well, Sage and I have been busy playing in my craft area this morning
and we've completed two challenges so far.

First of all, we tackled Starry Night with Amy Sheffer,
where we both made cards similar to Amy's.

Here's mine:

I added a bit of Liquid Gold to my wooden stars before adhering
them to my card.

And here's Sage's card:

She's going to camp this coming week and plans to give this card
to one of her counsellors.
I'm sure she'll love it!

And then, we both chose the same colour combo for the Master Colour Recipes:

Sage chose the combo first and made this card for her second counsellor:

Sage used a similar technique to the Starry Night card.
She blended ink onto her card to create an ombre effect,
then spritzed it with water and added a little more ink to blend the colours together.
It was her first time ink blending and she did such a great job!
Once it was dry, she stamped the image/sentiment from Summer Camp.

I was really inspired by the piece of art beside the colour combo.

I blended the inks onto my watercolour panel and flicked water onto it.
Then, I stamped the sentiment (from Graceful Greetings) several
times in versafine onyx black, using my MISTI to get a clean stamp.
A few rainstones finished it off.

Well, a friend is picking me up shortly to go for lunch
(a nice surprise!), but I'm hoping to tackle some more challenges
when I get home.

Thanks for looking!

Leigh and Sage, your cards are so pretty! Sage, yours especially reminds of a sky with northern lights. Do you get to see those where you live? We did when I was a kid, but don't see them where I live now. I'm always telling my kids and husband that they need to experience it sometime - it's so pretty!

  7. Leigh and Sage, I am in jaw-dropped awe at your stunning cards! Your starry night skies are spectacular. Sage, yours especially reminds me of the Northern Lights that lit up the sky when we traveled, years ago, to visit my grandparents in northern Alberta! Memories sparked! How lucky the camp counsellor receiving this beauty you've created. Your colour recipe cards are equally as lovely. Sage, your debut ink blending is outstanding; I think you've jumped straight to 'pro' status! Leigh, your thanks card is striking; love your vibrant colours! Looking forward to more of your gems!
