Once again, I'm participating in the monthly Papertrey Ink blog hop. This month's challenge is a fast one -- a Fast Food challenge, where Nichole supplied us with colour combos and sketches to use for our projects.
I couldn't resist creating a card for each one.
Here's the first sketch & colour combo:
And here's my card. I rotated the sketch 180˚ & I traded out the lemon tart for some rustic white. Otherwise, everything I used here is according to the colour scheme and is PTI. I wove my strips of kraft cardstock to mimic the pie crust. I stamped my cherries and cut them out by hand. I heat embossed them with some sugar-free cherry jello powder mixed with clear embossing powder.
Here's the second sketch and colour combo:
For this one, I rotated the sketch 90˚ to the right. I was a little stumped on the colour combo, until I found this sheet of Echo Park patterned paper in my stash. I stamped my Scent-imentals image and sentiment onto dark chocolate cardstock (I trimmed the end with my Tag Sale #5 die) and heat embossed them in white. I did the same with the flourish from Modern Wood Mats (I masked off the little flowers on the ends) and I added the "steam" with a Pedal Pushes stamp-- it's the one with the little cans, I just masked them off. I stamped the coffee in the cup in Versamark and then heat embossed it with brown embossing powder mixed with coffee grounds. I added some twine and a canyon clay button.
Here's the third colour combo and sketch:
I used some strips of Crate Paper patterned paper layered over some vintage cream cardstock to create my background. I stamped my sentiment on some patterned paper (the same that I used for my card base), that I'd diecut with my edger's #3 diecut. I stamped the peace in harvest gold and summer sunrise ink-- I was pleased how it turned out! Some buttons and twine finish it off.
Here's the fourth colour combo and sketch:
This was the only card I didn't use the Scent-imentals set on. I really liked the little flowers in the sketch, so I used my Iconic Images stamp set and Turning a New Leaf for the leaves. I impressed the plum pudding card stock with my woodgrain impression plate and stamped my sentiment (from Boutique Borders: Birthday) in plum pudding ink.
Here's the fifth colour combo and sketch:
For this card, I raided my patterned paper scraps. I found some that matched the colours in the sketch (I did go with ocean tides instead of aqua mist, though) and cut them into 1/2" strips. I stitched them onto my cardstock and stamped my sentiment in Spring Rain ink. I stamped my cherry leaves onto the background in ocean tides. I stamped my cherries onto another piece of vintage cream cardstock with both hibiscus burst & lavender moon. Then I stamped the cherries again in Versamark & heat embossed them with some sugar-free cherry jello powder mixed with clear embossing powder. Some ocean tides buttons finish it off.
And here's the sixth colour combo and sketch:
For this one, I deviated a little from the sketch. I rotated it 180˚, but then moved the tag into the centre. I was totally inspired by the sweet take out box. I used some Crate Paper patterned paper for the background, layered over kraft cardstock. I diecut my true black cardstock with my Mat Stack 4 die cut and stamped my Scent-imentals image and sentiment and heat embossed them in white. Since the brown ink didn't show up in the cut when I tried it, I decided to stamp it in Versamark and then heat emboss it with brown Zing! embossing powder mixed with coffee grounds. Some rustic twine finishes it off.
