END OF THE SCHOOL YEAR TREATS -- PART 3

Today, I'm sharing the rest of the butter crunch treat bag tags
that I made for my kids' teachers.
END OF THE SCHOOL YEAR TREATS -- PART 3 Leigh Penner @leigh148

For all of the tags, I used some PTI Vintage Cream cardstock,
which I diecut using Tag Sale #5 die.
I stamped popsicles on each one, using stamps from PTI's Summer Sweetness.

I wanted to add some clear embossing shine to the popsicles, so I stamped the images
in versa mark first and then in dye ink and heat embossed them with clear embossing powder.

End of the school year treats -- part 2

Just popping in today to share another tag
that I made for one of Sage's teachers.

Normally, we had them all out on the last day,
but Sage had her last class with this teacher on Friday,
so that morning, I quickly made this tag and attached it to some butter crunch.

End of the year treats part 2 Leigh Penner @leigh148

I used PTI's Tag Sale 3 die and stamped it with PTI's Stacked Sentiments stamp set
in Altenew's frosty pink, coral berry & warm sunshine and PTI's hawaiian shores.

End of the school year treats -- part 1

With the end of the school year only two days away,
I've been making butter crunch to show my appreciation
for the staff and my kids' schools.

End of the school year treats -- part 1 Leigh Penner @leigh148

These two went to the office staff at the school where I work
and to my friend, Tania, who teaches there (she loves my butter crunch!)

End of the school year treats -- part 1 Leigh Penner @leigh148

I diecut PTI's Tag Sale #7 die from aqua mist cardstock and some PTI striped vellum.
I diecut the popsicle (from Summer Sweetness) and the enjoy (from Wet Paint Cuts III)
and stamped the popsicle with the coordinating Summer Sweetness stamps.

Once I was done stamping, I pressed the top part of the popsicle diecut into versa mark
and then heat embossed it in clear to give it a little shine.

I followed the same steps to make this one.

Make It Monday #215

Mrs. Clyde, the music teacher at my kids' school is so fabulous!
She's the director of Jonah's choir and she also teaches Sage music
and directs the noon choir Sage is in.
She makes music so fun and a favourite class for both of them!
While she loves the butter crunch I give her,
I thought this year, instead of just a tag, I'd give her a card
letting her know just how special she is.

I used PTI's Graceful Greetings for my sentiment and embellished it
with some stars from Summer Camp.
I also used my PTI Petite Places: School stamps and dies on the inside

Five for Friday

Well, things are winding up around here with our school year....
only 1.25 days left after today!
Here's what we've been up to....

1. On Sunday, we had Cameron's family over for Father's Day.

It was so nice out, we ate outside.

Here is Sage holding Gloria, my great-niece. Isn't she adorable?

2. Austin asked me the other day:
"Have you ever wanted to make a rainbow cake?"
I replied that yes, I have.
So, I suggested that we make one together on Saturday for our meal on Sunday.
Here's how it turned out:

Five for Friday Leigh Penner @leigh148

It was fun, but it did take a long time!

3. I got to go along with Sage on her field trip on Tuesday.

We went to Lower Fort Garry with all of the Grade 5s from her school.
We got a tour in the morning (in French!) and then in the afternoon, they got
to build models of a Red River Frame House...

and a teepee:

I'm always so glad when it works for me to go along on field trips with my kids!

4. Today, Sage & I are going to Winnipeg to take my mom to
Cirque du Soleil for her birthday.
I've never been before (other than a free open-air performance I experienced at the
Montreal Jazz Festival in 1994 -- they were doing acrobatics off the side of the building!)
and I'm really looking forward to it!

5.  On Sunday, we had our Sunday School Wind-up.
I made some cards for the kids in my group to tell them how much I loved
having them in my group and to wish them a good summer.
I used some favourite Reverse Confetti products:

I made a girl version and a boy version by switching out one colour.

Five for Friday Leigh Penner @leigh148 @reverseconfetti @bazzillbasics #reverseconfetti #bazzillbasics #cards

I stamped my background using stamps from Color Me Happy.
Then, I stamped my sentiment (from Let's Chill).
I diecut the popsicle from the front of the card using the Let's Chill Confetti Cuts and the
stick from a piece of classic kraft cardstock
(which I stamped with the coordinating stamp from Let's Chill.)

Five for Friday Leigh Penner @leigh148 @reverseconfetti @bazzillbasics #reverseconfetti #bazzillbasics #cards

Do give the popsicle dimension, I diecut it from a piece of Bazzill Basics foam
and stacked them together when I reassembled the card.

Five for Friday Leigh Penner @leigh148 @reverseconfetti @bazzillbasics #reverseconfetti #bazzillbasics #cards

To add some shine to my popsicle, I pressed the diecut into my Versamark ink pad
and heat embossed it in clear before adhering it to the foam.

Papertrey Ink June Blog Hop

It's the 25th of the month, which means that I'm playing along
with the Papertrey Ink Blog Hop, where this month's challenge is this:

Aren't those shoes adorable?!

I decided to combine this challenge with this week's
CAS(E) This Sketch #129 designed by Michelle Williams
to make a birthday card for my mom:

Here's my card:

I used my MISTI to stamp my background using my SSS Wide Stripe stamp.
I actually stamped it twice in a pigment grey ink.
I stamped the sentiment (PTI's KIS: Birthday) in Versafine onyx black.

For the flowers, I used PTI's Brushed Blooms, which I stamped with Altenew's Buttercream
& Frayed Leaf and PTI's Orange Zest & Terracotta Tile.
A few PTI rainstones finish is off.

Visit CAS(E) this Sketch to see the rest of the DT's takes on the sketch
and to play along, if you'd like.
You have until Thursday, July 2nd to link up your card.

Fusion Card Challenge: Bright Butterfly

Today I have a card to share that I made for the

I was inspired by the photo.
Here's my card:

fusion card challenge bright butterfly Leigh Penner @leigh148 @bazzillbasics #bazzillbasics #cards

I stamped my sentiment (from PTI's Think Big Favourites #5) in
versamark onyx black and heat embossed it in clear.
Then, I pressed ink (Altenew's Warm Sunshine & Coral Berry &
Wplus 9's Sweet Gelato) onto my acrylic block, spritzed it with water
and pressed my cardstock onto it.
For my butterfly, I diecut the top layer (using PTI's Life is Beautiful dies)
from true black cardstock and the bottom layer from some Bazzill Basics Blue Mylar
Have you tried this yet?
It's so fun!
I love how when you shift the card, the colours change, like this:

Curtain Call Inspiration Challenge -- Flip Flops

Today, I have a card that I am entering in the

I love this photo!
Instead of the water and beach though...
my card, which uses Reverse Confetti  products, focuses on the sky.

To make it, I started by stamping the sentiments (using Lots to Say
and Shine Bright) in versa mark and heat embossing them in white.
Then, I diecut some clouds from some sticky notes, using the Sun 'n Clouds Confetti Cuts
and placed them on my cardstock panel as masks while I applied
some harvest gold, aqua mist and hawaiian shores inks with my Tim Holtz blending tool.

I'm also linking this up to this week's

Five Sympathy Cards

As I mentioned a few weeks ago, the store where I sell my cards
in my town has requested some sympathy cards.

I also mentioned that, while purging my craft area a couple of months ago,
I came across lots of embellishments that I loved
the look of in the store when I bought them
but then didn't seem to use on any of my cards/layouts.
But as I was getting rid of things, I couldn't seem to get rid of them
(some of them were just too pretty!)
So, I decided to pull them out to make some sympathy cards.

On each card, I used some Bazzill Basics Classic Smooth White cardstock,
a strip of American Crafts' DIY patterned paper and
my favourite sympathy sentiment from Reverse Confetti's Lots to Say.

Here they are:

This diecut is Crate Paper.
I matted this card on a piece of Bazzill Rain Forest cardstock
and added a couple of buttons and twine to finish it off.

once again, the diecut is Crate Paper.

The flower diecut is from Heidi Swapp and I added a couple of PTI buttons with twine.
This card is matted on Bazzill Jade cardstock.

For this last card, I didn't add any patterned paper &
matted on Bazzill Basics Turquoise Mist cardstock.
The diecut is from Crate Paper and I added two PTI buttons with twine.
