1. Thanks so much for the birthday wishes!
I had a great day/weekend!
My friend, Susan, took me out for lunch and my family
took me out for supper.
Sage & Jonah got me a wonderful pillow for my living room
-- it has feathers on it and matches everything perfectly!
Austin put some money towards getting a Marni Luhu custom necklace --
I will definitely share photos when it's done!
And, my best friend, Val, took me to Winnipeg for the day on Saturday.
We went for brunch at Cora's
and spent the rest of the day shopping.
It was wonderful!
2. So, most of you probably know that I'm a substitute teacher
during the school year and that I love having my summers off with my kids.
Well, this week, I kind of got a job....
It was unexpected, to say the least!
My husband paints for our school division in the summertime
and he called on Monday to tell me that a painter walked off the job
and did I want to paint.
I said yes, thinking it would just be for a day.
Well, it's until the job is done....
The extra money will be nice, I'm sure,
but I'm quite sad that my summer has been cut short.
I'm hoping to get it done by the middle/end of next week, but we'll see...
3. I had worked very hard to make sure that I still had projects
to post on my blog while we were away in Montreal two weeks ago.
However, I haven't been as productive as I should be
(I blame Netflix!)
so I don't have very many projects waiting to be blogged.
With this new job popping up,
I haven't had a lot of time to craft.
So, I've decided to get a guest blogger!
She's agreed to do three posts for me, starting tomorrow.
Any guesses to who it could be?
4. I'm very excited about this:
I was so thrilled and honoured to be asked to be a contributor
It's been one of my crafty dreams to contribute to an online class!
It promises to be a wonderful class
(where I have a couple of videos to share!)
and the kit Card Essentials 101 Card kit is fabulous!
5. And lastly, I have a card to share that I made for Muse Challenge #129,
where we're being inspired by this card:
I stamped the flowers (also from Gracious Greetings) in Golden Glitz Delicata ink
and added some leaves stamped in hawaiian shores.
Thanks for looking!
where we're being inspired by this card:
I love the stencilling on this card and I was inspired by that,
the colours Anita used and the design.
Here's my card:
I stamped my sentiment (using PTI's Gracious Greetings stamp set),
which I masked with a post-it note that I diecut using the coordinating die,
for this week's Make It Monday at Papertrey Ink: Masking Sentiments.
I used a Tim Holtz stencil for my background, inking it with aqua mist and hawaiian shores ink.
and added some leaves stamped in hawaiian shores.
Thanks for looking!

ReplyDeleteHappy belated Birthday; I love your interpretation of Anita's MUSE card. When I look at MUSE cards, my interpretations are "too literal". I really need to think outside the box, like you do to create beautiful cards.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations, Leigh!
