Shake, Rattle & Roll and Valentines

Quite the combo, I know.

I wanted to share some photos that I took of Sage. We signed up for Shake, Rattle & Roll again this year. (We took it a year and a half ago, when Sage was three. You can see the layout that I made for that here.) It's an exercise class for preschoolers and their moms (or dads, or grandmas, etc.) where they run around, play games, learn skills and have lots of fun.

This last week's class was on rolling.

Thanks to my friends, Susan and Bronwyn, who took the pictures of Sage and me. It's been lots of fun-- I'm so thankful that our community offers such wonderful programs for preschoolers!

And on to the Valentines.

I created the following three cards with the February kit at Just Cre8.

*By the way, I just wanted to remind you to make a comment at The Inspired Scrapper this month for a chance to win a prize donated by The Bookers Club.

Have a great weekend!

Baby, it's cold outside...

So cold that Austin's class was suppose to make igloos outside this morning, but they postponed it.

So cold that Jonah's class was planning on going tobogganing this afternoon, but it has also been postponed.

So cold that I just want to stay inside and scrapbook. (Okay, it doesn't need to be cold for me to do that--- LOL!)

I wanted to share a few pictures that I've taken recently that I was happy with...

Austin and Sage were playing together after church last Sunday. There are moments when my kids get along that make my heart sing. This was one of them.

And Sage called me into her room to come and find her later that day. She was hiding in her closet, with her toy camera and her chipmunk webkinz, Lauren. Too cute!

That's about all I have to share today.

Oh, except that you might want to check out Paper Trunk Blog-- they have a give-away going on today.

Thanks for stopping by.

Welcome to my blog

... for the CMK blog hop!

Today is reveal day, where the CMK Feb. kit is being revealed, along with layouts that the DT created using the kit.

So, guess what I used on my layout?

These little chipboard critters from Sassafras Lass (which, of course, are in the kit.) I struggled with them for a bit, because, for me, I need to have a reason why things are on my layouts. I am probably too theme oriented that way, but hey, that's me. ;)

So, I wondered how I could use these critters on a page, without resorting to cute phrases like :"You're such a deer" or "Owl always love you" (I'm saving those for valentines LOL!) when Sage sparked the idea for a layout.

I love it when it all comes together!

Make sure you check out the CMK blog to see what the other members of the DT created.

Three challenges, three layouts

Whew, it's been quite the busy week. Sage and I have had something up every single day. Not good. I need some down time (aka. me time, aka scrappy time.) LOL!

I've posted two challenge this week.

One at Scrap for a Cure. As their GDT this month, I posted this challenge , using their January kit.

The second is for Just Cre8, where I posted a Leave Your Legacy challenge (kind of like a "book of me" challenge). I love these types of challenges because they put me into my scrapbooks.

And, if you're looking for another challenge, The Inspired Scrapper has their 4th challenge posted today. :)

And now, the three layouts...

These are the layouts that I made this past week at the scrappy retreat I went to.

(For this one, I used the sketch for Mixer #2 at Mix it Up.

(I know this is the Pink Paislee Christmas paper, but it worked so well with Sage's halloween pictures! LOL )

Thanks for looking and have a great weekend!

So, I had

a great and productive weekend at the Pembina Valley Bible Camp scrapbooking retreat. So fun to hang out with friends, eat & scrapbook to my heart's content.

I got six layouts done on the weekend. I like to do computer journaling, but since there was no computer there to use, I decided that rather than having a pile of layouts to complete when I got home, that I would just use my handwriting.

These three layouts were created using the Feb. kit at Just Cre8.

(For this layout, I used the Friday Formula at CMK.)

The Weekend!!

I've been counting the days to this weekend, because after lunch, I am going to the Pembina Valley Bible Camp with some friends for a scrapbooking overnight retreat!

So pumped! But I still need to pack-- the least fun part about the whole thing, most definitely.

So, have a great weekend--- hopefully I'll have lots of layouts to share upon my return.

P.S. If you'd really like to see one of my layouts today, you can check out Challenge #3 at The Inspired Scrapper.

More to share

It's reveal day at Just Cre8, where the DT are revealing the layouts that they created with the lovely February kits.

Here's what I created with the kit so far (more to come later):

And the January DT challenge at My Scrap Shoppe is up today. This month's challenge was to use ribbon (something I struggle with.) Here's what I made:

SFAC GDT layouts

As I mentioned in an earlier post, last month, I got an email from Diana, one of the co-owners at Scrap For a Cure, asking if I'd be interested in being their Guest Designer for the month of January.

Here's what I created with their yummy kit:

I have a fourth layout, but I'm saving it to post on their site next week with a challenge.

Thanks for looking!

It's Monday

Which usually means cleaning, laundry and a bit of scrapping thrown in for fun!

I got some scrapbooking done this past weekend. Online crops are always so inspiring!
Here's what I created:

(with the Just Cre8 January kit)

Kind of an ecletic mix of subjects!

Also, this week at My Scrap Shoppe, the DT members are sharing their scrappy spaces on the blog.... and I'm up first! You can check out my space here.

A picture scavenger hunt

As one of the games during Scrap For A Cure's New Year Launch Party, Diana posted a picture scavenger hunt. She gave a list of things to take pictures of. I thought I'd post my answers here.

Something NEW (the slippers Val gave me for Christmas)

Something RED (my sweater)

A set of three rounds (I actually didn't understand this one, so when I pondered aloud: "What's a set of three rounds?" Sage, who was working on her valentines, heard me and said: "Here's a set of three, Mom." It was so sweet how she was trying to help me, I had to take her suggestion. Dora's head is pretty round! LOL!)

A corner ( near the gold chair in my livingroom)

The alphabet (my current favourite stickers!)

Something Blue (a blanket on my bed)

Something sparkly (the wreath at my front door)

Something hot (a mug of hot chocolate-- perfect for this cold day)

Something cold (my ice cube tray)

The time (my Ikea clock)

My tunes (no ipod or mp3 player for me-- I listen to CDs)

My favourite (my best girl, Sage)
What a fun game-- thanks, Diana!!

Fabulous Friday

Thanks for all the well-wishes about the DT at CMK!! I really, really appreciate your support and encouragement-- it means so much to me!

Well, it's Friday and I am ready for the weekend!!

A few things going on today (other than the fact that I got the cleaning bug-- my living room is clean and the kitchen is almost done. I'm sure I'll peeter out soon, but hey, they kids can clean their own rooms, right? ;) )

1. First of all, My Scrap Shoppe is having their monthly online crop tonight and tomorrow. If you'd like to get a jump on it, you can check out the early bird challenges posted already here.

2. The Inspired Scrapper has their second challenge up on the blog.

3. A reminder that Scrap for a Cure is having their new year's launch and party this weekend.

And because I hate posting without a picture, here's my layout that I created using the fabulous January kit & stamps from Just Cre8.

I created this layout for the Monthly CC challenge which was to create a layout where an element extends off the top or side of the page, which coincidently is also my early bird challenge for the online crop at MSS. ;)

Thanks for looking!

Scrappy News

Last month, I got an email from Diana, one of the co-owners at Scrap For a Cure, asking if I'd be interested in being their Guest Designer for the month of January.

I was quite honoured & thrilled, to say the least.

So, I wanted to post a little sneak peek here of one of the layouts that I've created (so far) with their January kit.

Their reveal for the kit will take place this Friday, January 9th, which coincides with the launch of their new site. And so, to celebrate, they're having a party!

You can check out the details here.
