Happy Halloween...... & some news

*Note: this is my second post for today.
Please scroll down to see the card I made for the Fresh Squeezed Stamps October Release.
Thanks!

I have a couple of cards to share today, as well as some news.

To start, I want to share the card that I made for CAS(E) This Sketch #52 by Karolyn Loncon:

And being Halloween and all, I couldn't resist making a card for the occasion.

I used some Teresa Collins patterned paper for my background. The rest of my supplies are from Papertrey Ink. I love how that notched die with the stars cut out of it looks in black, layered over the orange card stock!

Visit CAS(E) this Sketch to see the rest of the DT's takes on the sketch and to play along, if you'd like. You have until Thursday, November 7th to link up your card.

Next, I just want to take a moment to thank Ryann & Shannon from Fresh Squeezed Stamps for letting me design for them for the past four months! I've really enjoyed my Design Team term with them and look forward to seeing what the next DT will do with their fun supplies!

And, while one door closes, another one opens....

I was beyond thrilled to get an email a few weeks ago from Jen Del Muro asking me if I would be interested in joining her Confetti Crew at Reverse Confetti!

In honour of this announcement, I made a card using my Forever Fall stamp set
which sums up how grateful I am for the opportunities I've been given
to serve on such fabulous design teams.

I used some new Fancy Pants patterned paper as my background.
I layered my die cut over top, on which I stamped the sentiment in black.
For the heart, I did something new for me.... I used Perfect Pearls. I stamped the heart in their medium and then brushed the Perfect Pearls over top.
I was really pleased with how well it matched the patterned paper!

Here's a little close-up of the shine:

So, thanks again, Jen, for asking me to join your Confetti Crew!
And, Jen is announcing the new team members on the Reverse Confetti Blog today,
so please go and check it out.

I'm also linking up these cards for this week's Simon Says Stamp Challenge: Anything Goes.

Holiday Tag Alongs

Welcome to Day 3 of the peeks for the October release for

Today's release is a stamp set called Holiday Tag Alongs,
a set that's perfect for making tags this holiday season.

Instead of making a tag, however, I decided to use this set on a card...

I stamped the snowflake image twice on my card front and
stamped a sentiment from Inside Scoop: Holiday.
Like the card I made for Hello December, I embossed some snowflake dies on the front by running them through my diecutting machine with my embossing mats.
I added a snowflake diecut from vellum and a button with twine to finish it off.

Head on over to the Fresh Squeezed Stamps blog for more inspiration
from the other DT members using Holiday Tag Alongs

Inside Scoop: Holiday

Welcome to Day 2 of the peeks for the October release for

Today's feature is a stamp set called Inside Scoop: Holiday
Like the previously released Inside Scoop: Birthday,
it's a sentiment set that's perfect for the insides of your cards,
but also works really well on the front of them, too.

Here's the card I made with it...

I loved this sentiment and immediately thought of pairing it with one of my winter dies.
The little homes with the lights on (strips of patterned paper behind the windows) make me think of "the closeness of friends and the comfort of home."
I stamped my sentiment in Versamark and then heat embossed it in white.
Then I did the same thing with the tiny little circle stamp from A Wee Christmas.
I added the diecuts (using dimensional adhesive for the lower layer) and
matted it all on some patterned paper.

from the other DT members using Inside Scoop: Holiday

Hello December

Welcome to Day 1 of the peeks for the October release for

Today, we're featuring a stamp set called Hello December
It's a great set that would be perfect for making Christmas cards or using for Project Life
or in a December Daily album.

Here's the card I made with it...

To start, I ran my lime cardstock through my diecut machine with my large speech bubble die & my embossing mats, so it wouldn't cut my cardstock, only impress the die's image into it.
Then I diecut a smaller speech bubble and diecut an ampersand image from it.
I stamped the "merry" & "bright" images from Hello December onto cardstock, fussy cut them out and adhered them to my card using dimensional adhesive.

Head on over to the Fresh Squeezed Stamps blog for more inspiration
from the other DT members using  Hello December
There, you can see the full stamp set AND leave a comment to be entered into the draw to win it!

MIM #138

Hi there! I'm popping in this afternoon to share a card that I just made for

I was inspired by this card to use my new City Scene stamps to make my card.

Now, I know that I probably should have used a PTI die cut for the challenge,
but I was really dying to use my new Simon Says Stamp Merry Christmas die-- isn't it fabulous?
I die cut the words from the smokey shadow card stock I used for my background
and then filled it in with some die cut words from some gold shimmer card stock.

I added some black ink to my background with my blending tool and some post-it notes to create my building silhouettes. Then I stamped my buildings onto white card stock and cut them out with scissors and my trimmer.

Thanks for looking!

PTI October Blog Hop

Note: this is my second post for the day.
To see my post for Fresh Squeezed Stamps, please scroll down.

It's the 25th, which means it's time for the Papertrey Ink Blog Hop.

This month's challenge is tags.

We were challenged to make a quick set of five gift tags.

I decided to use my new Fancy Flakes die as the base for my tags,
on which I layered some LL:ovals 2.25" diecuts over top.

For each tag, I used a "to" & "from" stamps from PTI's To You From Me stamp set.
But, after that, I tried to use different Christmas sets for each one.

Here I stamped some snowflakes from In the Meadow.

I stamped my snowflakes and ski from Two Feet Deep.

For this one, I stamped my branches and berries from Love Lives Here: Holiday.
The bird is from Christmas Friends, which I stamped and then cut out by hand.

I stamped the little car and Christmas tree from my brand new City Scene stamp set.

And here's my last tag....

My mom gives me money each fall to purchase our families Christmas gifts from her.
Last weekend, I went to Minneapolis with my BFF and other ladies from our church for the
Women of Faith Conference.
We also may have done a little shopping in Albertville and at the Mall of America.
You know, just a little. ;)
I managed to find three things I really loved.... so I wrapped them up, so I wouldn't be tempted to use them before December 25th. LOL!

On this tag, I used Love Lives Here: Holiday.

And lastly, here's the other package I wrapped....

For our family gift exchange, I got my brother-in-law, Dale.
Shhh, don't tell, though. It's suppose to be a secret! ;)

He likes to cross-country ski, so I thought the Two Feet Deep tag was a perfect fit for him.

A special adventure

Welcome to my Friday post, where I share a project that I've designed for

Today's card was made using the sweet little bicycle from Breath of Fresh Flair
and a sentiment from Everyday Expressions.

I had been looking through my 6x6 paper pads and came across this fun travel sheet.
I decided it would be neat to used these stamps to convey the message that when we're together, everyday feels like an adventure.

I trimmed my patterned paper panel and adhered it to my card base.
I diecut two frame dies from kraft and cream cardstock.
I stamped my sentiment in black, trimmed it and adhered it to the kraft frame,
on which I heat embossed my bike using red embossing powder.
I added a thin strip of striped patterned paper and finished it off with some twine,
because it reminded me of a package.

CAS(E) this Sketch #51

Today, I'm sharing CTS's Sketch #51 by N@Ali:

I have to admit, I was a little stumped with this card at first, as I don't have any "plane" stamps. But then I found some Simple Stories chipboard in my stash.... and here's what I made with it:

I also used some coordinating Simple Stories patterned paper,
on which I stamped with a PTI Road Trip stamp.
The strip of patterned paper along the bottom is Echo Park.
Some stitching and enamel dots finish it off.

I'm planning on giving this card to my friend who is going on our church's annual trip to Congo in February. I cut the patterned paper so DR Congo is visible on the card, near the bottom. :)

Visit CAS(E) this Sketch to see the rest of the DT's takes on the sketch and to play along, if you'd like. You have until Thursday, October 31st to link up your card.

Case Study #162

Today, I have a card to share that I made for CASE Study Challenge #162,
where one of my very favourite stampers is being featured: Elena Roussakis.

I was inspired by Elena's tree background to use some WRMK patterned paper as my background.

I diecut my mat using PTI's Mat Stack #1.
On it, I stamped the heart and sentiment from Reverse Confetti's Forever Fall stamp set.
To finish it off, I added the little fox flair from Two Peas in a Bucket.

I'm linking this up to Reverse Confetti's 'Fetti Finds.

"Suntime"

Welcome to my Friday post, where I share a project that I've designed for

Today, I have a layout to share that I made using stamps from several different sets:
Subway Series: Summer, You Said It, Sister & Breath of Fresh Flair
and Sketch #106 from Inspired Blueprints.

Here's my layout:

I decided to use some Echo Park patterned paper for my background, but wanted to add some stamping and inking to it. I stamped the polka dots from You Said It, Sister below my photo and then layered a title that I cut on my Silhouette over top, using dimensional adhesive.

To create a sunburst on my background, I used some post-it notes
and added some ink using a blending tool.

Using a masking technique, I stamped some of the words from the beach themed sentiment from Subway Series: Summer.
I stamped off the teal one a second time, slightly off from the first time,
to add a bit of a drop shadow.

To finish off my frame, I stamped the bird image from Breath of Fresh Flair and fussy cut out two of the birds.
I love this little detail, because the photos of Jonah and Sage perched on the back of the couch
remind me of birds perched on a wire.

Here's a close-up of my journaling:

CAS(E) this Sketch #50

Today, I'm sharing CTS's Sketch #50 by Chrissy Larson:

And here is the card I made with it:

I layered some PTI rustic cream cardstock onto some woodgrain Crate Paper patterned paper. I stamped the Summer Camp stamp twice-- once on the card and a second time on the banner, which I layered over top. It looked like it was missing something, so I added the sentiment from ME's Wanderlust set.
