CAS(E) This Sketch #142

Today, I have a card to share that I made for
CAS(E) This Sketch #142 designed by me:

Here's my card:

CAS(E) this sketch 142 Leigh Penner @leigh148 #cards

I stamped along a strip of aqua mist cardstock for my background,
using one of the stamps from PTI's Twig Wreath.
Then, on the other side, on the white panel, I used more Twig Wreath stamps.

My sentiment is from Wplus9's Grateful Greetings,
which I stamped in tropical teal.

Reverse Confetti September New Release Blog Hop

Hey there, 'Fetti Fans!
Welcome to the Reverse Confetti September New Release Blog Hop!

The hop started over on the Reverse Confetti blog and
you should have made it here from the wonderfully inspiring Amy Sheffer's blog
It would be worth your while to start at the beginning of the hop, so you don’t miss a thing.
We have tons of inspiration for you to see using all of the new Reverse Confetti stamp sets & dies,
which are available to purchase today!

For my blog hop project, I decided to pair one of the new stamp sets -- Too Cute To Spook
-- with one of the new Confetti Cuts -- Thanks Tag -- to make a shaker card.

Here's my card:

Reverse Confetti September New Release Blog Hop Leigh Penner @leigh148 @reverseconfetti #reverseconfetti #cards

I started with some Bazzill Marshmallow cardstock as my background.
I coloured on some acetate with my brown Zig Clear Colour Watercolour Marker,
spritzed it with water and smooshed it onto my cardstock.

I diecut the little cat from Too Cute To Spook (he's so cute!) and
coloured him in using some ink that I pressed onto acetate and spritzed with water,
using a paintbrush.

And then, I made my shaker card...

Reverse Confetti September New Release Blog Hop Leigh Penner @leigh148 @reverseconfetti #reverseconfetti #cards

Isn't it fun?
I started by diecutting the new Thanks Tag from some Bazzill Basics Marshmallow cardstock
and then diecutting the rectangle from the centre of it to make the window.
And what do you think of my separated sequins?
I used my WRMK Fuse Tool to make the little sections -- I think it's so cool!

I hope you’ve enjoyed hopping with us today!
Be sure and join us on the 8th of every month for more Reverse Confetti inspiration!

CAS(E) This Sketch #138

Thanks so much to Bazzill Basics for sponsoring this post!
I was provided with products, but all opinions are my own.

Today, I have a card to share that I made for
CAS(E) This Sketch #138 designed by Chrissy Larson:

Isn't it super fun?
Here's my card:

To make my card, I used some post-it notes to mask off of rectangle
I used a Tim Holtz stencil and blending tool to apply ink to the unmasked area.
I stamped the cat (from Mama Elephant's Three Amigos stamp set) in versafine onyx black ink
over the woodgrain rectangle, as well as on another piece of Coconut Swirl cardstock.
I heat embossed the cat in clear embossing powder.
To colour him in, I pressed some of the same ink onto an acrylic block,
added a little water and painted the wet ink onto my cat with a paintbrush.
Then, I repeated the process with a dark grey ink, as well as with Delicata Silver ink.
I cut the painted cat out by hand and then adhered him to my card.

I added a banner diecut from some Bazzill Basics Monochromatic: Smoky cardstock using
Papertrey Ink's double-ended banner die and and stamped with KIS: Birthday.
I matted the card with this cardstock as well.

I'm also linking this card up to this week's
Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge: Anything Goes.

Visit CAS(E) this Sketch to see the rest of the DT's takes on the sketch
and to play along, if you'd like.
You have until Thursday, September 3rd to link up your card.

Oh, and before you go, I'm also up on the Bazzill Basics Blog today
with this card, as well as with a coordinating tag.

CAS(E) This Sketch #134 -- Take Two

Today, I have another card to share that I made for
CAS(E) This Sketch #134 designed by Chrissy Larson:

I love these fun concentric circles in the bottom corner of the card!
They made me think of the large Crate Paper flower die that I have.
It's from Maggie Holmes and allows for several layers.

Here's my card:

CAS(E) This Sketch 134 -- Take Two Leigh Penner @leigh148 #cards

I used Mama Elephant's Femme Frames to created the border
and diecut the flower pieces from Crate Paper Poolside 6x6 paper pad.
The flower only goes up to the solid pink circle, so I cut the two largest rings by hand.
I love how it's extra large this way!

CAS(E) This Sketch 134 -- Take Two Leigh Penner @leigh148 #cards

I diecut my Wet Paint Cut from true black cardstock and stamped
the coordinating sentiment in onyx black ink.

I'm also linking this up to this week's

Visit CAS(E) this Sketch to see the rest of the DT's takes on the sketch
and to play along, if you'd like.
Remember, you have until Thursday, August 6th to link up your card.

Oh, and I also have a post up on the Bazzill Basics Blog today,
showing how I store my cardstock scraps.

CAS(E) This Sketch #132

Today, I have a card to share that I made for

I love how only part of the tree is included on the sketch,
so I wanted to incorporate only part of an image.
I chose to use my PTI Pedal Pusher set to make my card.

CAS(E) This Sketch 132 Leigh Penner @bazzillbasics #bazzillbasics #cards

I diecut the frame from some Bazzill Basics Smoothies: Citron cardstock.
I added the banner from Winnie & Walter's The Big, the Bold and Extras stamp set
which I trimmed out by hand.
The sentiment on the banner is from PTI's KIS: Belated Birthday,
but I cut off the belated.

CREATE Magazine -- take two

As I mentioned in this post, the Bazzill Basics Design Team were featured in the

We were each asked to design a card and layouts using the excellent sketches
created by Allison Davis.
In the magazine, which you can download for free here,  I have a layout
using the single page sketch, as well as a card.

However, I also made a layout using the two page sketch, which
I'd like to share with you today.

CREATE Magazine -- take two Leigh Penner @leigh148 @bazzillbasics #bazzillbasics #scrapbookinglayout

I used some Bazzill Basics cardstock (CS White, Bling: Infatuation, Fourz: Springtime)
to scrapbook the photos I took of Sage & my fairy garden.

CREATE Magazine -- take two Leigh Penner @leigh148 @bazzillbasics #bazzillbasics #scrapbookinglayout

I used a Pretty Pink Posh scalloped border die to diecut my Bling: Infatuation cardstock
and some Quickutz Cotton Candy & PTI Book Print alphabet dies for my title.

CREATE Magazine -- take two Leigh Penner @leigh148 @bazzillbasics #bazzillbasics #scrapbookinglayout

I diecut and stamped the flowers using PTI's Brushed Blooms.

On the second page, I printed my photos as 3x4 and used the same scallops border die.

Once again, I added some Brushed Blooms flowers.

I used a PTI Simply Framed die to diecut my journaling.

I also made a coordinating card using the card sketch and some of the same products.

CAS(E) This Sketch #131 -- take two

I have another card to share that I made for

I found this piece of Pink Paislee Bella Rouge patterned paper
in my stash and immediately thought of this sketch.
Here's my card:

CAS(E) This Sketch 131 take two Leigh Penner @bazzillbasics #bazzillbasics #cards

I used some Bazzill Basics cardstock: Classic Smooth White & Monochromatic: Petalsoft
I added a PTI Keep It Simple Frame in which I stamped my sentiment
(from PTI's Life is Beautiful).
A couple of buttons finish it off.

Five for Friday

Well, things are winding up around here with our school year....
only 1.25 days left after today!
Here's what we've been up to....

1. On Sunday, we had Cameron's family over for Father's Day.

It was so nice out, we ate outside.

Here is Sage holding Gloria, my great-niece. Isn't she adorable?

2. Austin asked me the other day:
"Have you ever wanted to make a rainbow cake?"
I replied that yes, I have.
So, I suggested that we make one together on Saturday for our meal on Sunday.
Here's how it turned out:

Five for Friday Leigh Penner @leigh148

It was fun, but it did take a long time!

3. I got to go along with Sage on her field trip on Tuesday.

We went to Lower Fort Garry with all of the Grade 5s from her school.
We got a tour in the morning (in French!) and then in the afternoon, they got
to build models of a Red River Frame House...

and a teepee:

I'm always so glad when it works for me to go along on field trips with my kids!

4. Today, Sage & I are going to Winnipeg to take my mom to
Cirque du Soleil for her birthday.
I've never been before (other than a free open-air performance I experienced at the
Montreal Jazz Festival in 1994 -- they were doing acrobatics off the side of the building!)
and I'm really looking forward to it!

5.  On Sunday, we had our Sunday School Wind-up.
I made some cards for the kids in my group to tell them how much I loved
having them in my group and to wish them a good summer.
I used some favourite Reverse Confetti products:

Five for Friday Leigh Penner @leigh148 @reverseconfetti @bazzillbasics #reverseconfetti #bazzillbasics #cards

I made a girl version and a boy version by switching out one colour.

Five for Friday Leigh Penner @leigh148 @reverseconfetti @bazzillbasics #reverseconfetti #bazzillbasics #cards

I stamped my background using stamps from Color Me Happy.
Then, I stamped my sentiment (from Let's Chill).
I diecut the popsicle from the front of the card using the Let's Chill Confetti Cuts and the
stick from a piece of classic kraft cardstock
(which I stamped with the coordinating stamp from Let's Chill.)

Five for Friday Leigh Penner @leigh148 @reverseconfetti @bazzillbasics #reverseconfetti #bazzillbasics #cards

Do give the popsicle dimension, I diecut it from a piece of Bazzill Basics foam
and stacked them together when I reassembled the card.

Five for Friday Leigh Penner @leigh148 @reverseconfetti @bazzillbasics #reverseconfetti #bazzillbasics #cards

To add some shine to my popsicle, I pressed the diecut into my Versamark ink pad
and heat embossed it in clear before adhering it to the foam.
