Countdown to Confetti: Cast a Spell & Give Thanks

Welcome to Day 3 of the September Release for Reverse Confetti

It's a fabulous fall release,
with five new stamps sets & six new Confetti Cuts!

Today, we are introducing two new fabulous fall sets:
an adorable Halloween set (with coordinating Confetti Cuts) called Cast a Spell
a thanksgiving set with a lovely frame (& coordinating Confetti Cuts!) called Give Thanks.

Reverse Confetti is also releasing two adorable treat bag dies this month which
I used with these stamps to create my projects today.

First up is the little Halloween treat bag that I made using some Chickaniddy Crafts
patterned paper and the Treat Tote Confetti Cuts.
You die cut two of the Treat Totes, fold and adhere them together. Super easy & fun!
For my tag, I stamped the adorable broom image from Cast a Spell & added a sentiment from Sweet Thing.
As a finishing touch, I added some little stars that were die cut from another new panel die
that's being released this month Pretty Panels: Stars.

And for my next treat bag, I used the Tagged Tote Confetti Cuts (again, with some
Chickaniddy Crafts patterned paper) to create what I think would be a very fun place card idea
for a Thanksgiving table.

I used the new Give Thanks stamp set to stamp my frame and sentiment,
which I die cut with the coordinating Give Thanks Label Confetti Cuts.
The bow was die cut with a die that's included with the Tagged Tote Confetti Cuts
and I attached it with a Chickaniddy Crafts brad.
For the name at the top, I die cut a small flower die from Petals 'n Posies Confetti Cuts,
which I attached with a tiny little clothes pin.

That's it for today!

Countdown to Confetti: In A Big Way

Welcome to Day 2 of the September Release for Reverse Confetti

It's a fabulous fall release,
with five new stamps sets & six new Confetti Cuts!

Today, we are introducing a new set:
it's another fabulous sentiment set called In a Big Way.

You can see the product graphics at the bottom of my post.

For my first card, I decided to pair one of the sentiments from this set with
a new panel die that's being released this month: Pretty Panels: Triangles.

I had fun diecutting the panel from aqua mist, white & three shades of pink card stock.
On the background, I stamped a few triangles from Tinsel 'n Trim.
I stamped the sentiment from In a Big Way on some sweet blush card stock
which I made into a banner by trimming the ends with the small tag from Tag Me.
I love the pretty yet graphic feel of this card!

For my second card, I paired In a Big Way with another new set
being released this month: So Many Stars.

I started by stamping one of the So Many Stars stamps repeatedly
across my panel in Versamark and heat embossed it in white.
Then, I added some colour with watercolour paints.
I trimmed a vellum strip to 2 3/8" wide and die cut the end with
the bottom of the larger tag from Tag Me.
I stamped my sentiment in Versamark on the vellum
and heat embossed it in black.
A few Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear sequins finish it off.

That's it for today!
There will be a $15 gift certificate up for grabs, so you make sure you leave a comment
on each sneak peek post for each designer to increase your chances of winning!
Comments will close at noon CST on September 7th and the winner will be
announced at 5pm on September 7th.

Countdown to Confetti: Quirky Cuties: Sammy Squirrel

Welcome to Day 1 of the September Release for Reverse Confetti

It's a fabulous fall release,
with five new stamps sets & six new Confetti Cuts!

Today, we are introducing a new set:
it's another adorable Quirky Cuties set called Sammy Squirrel.

You can see the product graphics at the bottom of my post.

The first thing I noticed about Sammy Squirrel was his adorable bow tie,
which immediately made me think of the 11th Doctor in Doctor Who -- "Bow ties are cool."
(We got Netflix this summer and have been watching the Doctor Who series
-- it's so good, I'm totally hooked!)
From there, the idea came to make this card....

See? He's in the Tardis!
I created the Tardis using some navy card stock which I die cut using the rounded
rectangle die from Class Act Confetti Cuts and inked the edges.
I created the window panes using the strips from Diagonal Stripe Pretty Panels Confetti Cuts.
For the "Public Call Box," I cut up the alphabet stamp from Class Act.
For the sentiment, I pieced together some of the sentiments from Quirky Cuties: Oliver Owl
which I stamped in Versamark on vellum & heat embossed in white.
(My daughter, Sage, was the one to come up with the sentiment -- it starts with "Who", get it?)
I stamped Sammy Squirrel on some kraft card stock and paper pieced him.
I added a little colour to his polka dot bow tie with a shimmer marker.

That's it for today!
There will be a $15 gift certificate up for grabs, so you make sure you leave a comment
on each sneak peek post for each designer to increase your chances of winning!
Comments will close at noon CST on September 7th and the winner will be

CAS(E) This Sketch #91

Here is the card that I made for
 CAS(E) This Sketch #91 by N@ Ali:

Here's my card:

I layered some vintage cream card stock over some kraft card stock.
I die cut two banners from some Crate Paper patterned paper using my
Papertrey In Get a Handle on It die.
I die cut the Simon Says Stamp Hello die twice using vintage cream card stock
& another sheet of Crate Paper patterned paper.
I stamped the "friend" from PTI's Wonderful Words Additions
and added a trio of Pretty Pink Posh wooden stars to finish it off.

Visit CAS(E) this Sketch to see the rest of the DT's takes on the sketch
and to play along, if you'd like.
You have until Thursday, September 11th to link up your card.

A little something for Sage

Well, it is back to school time.
Yesterday, I went with Jonah to meet his teacher & today, I'll go with Sage.
(I've actually met them before.... Sage's teacher taught Jonah last year &
Jonah's teacher taught Sage last year, but has now moved up to grade 7)
and tomorrow, they both start back full time. Sigh.

I have a project on the Chickaniddy Crafts blog today.
I'd love for you to stop by and check out the little back to school gift that I made for Sage.
Here's a peek....

Back to School

Last night, we had our annual "back to school feast"...

And today, I'll go for my staggered entrance meeting with Jonah's teacher.
Austin is on the student council this year, so he's helping out today
with the Grade 9's orientation and tomorrow, he'll start Grade 10.
And tomorrow, I'll go for my staggered entrance meeting with Sage's teacher.
And she & Jonah will go full time on Thursday.

I have such a hard time not being sad about summer ending --
2014 was really a great summer!
But I am excited about this coming school year
and the activities we have planned for the fall....

So, in honour of our big day,
I have a Reverse Confetti card that would be perfect for a teacher --
either now at the start of the year, or just to pass on a little encouragement
during the year -- I'm pretty sure any teacher would appreciate that. ;)

I used some Heidi Swapp patterned paper.
On the vintage cream card stock, I ran the apple die from Class Act Confetti Cuts
partially through my diecutting machine three times and
stamped it with the coordinating Class Act stamp.
I die cut the smaller heart from Love Note and stamped it with the apple stamp
and layered them over the apples.
The leaves were die cut with the  Class Act Confetti Cuts from
the Heidi Swapp patterned paper and the sentiment is from Class Act, too.

I'm also linking this card up to this week's

Sketch for you to try #16

Today I have a card to share for the Reverse Confetti Sketch for You to Try #16:

And here's my take on the sketch:

I started with some Basic Grey patterned paper and layered it over some cream card stock.
Then, I cut a panel of cream card stock and ran it through my diecutting machine
with my impressing mats to impress the largest tag from Tag Me
I used one of the Circles 'n Scallops Confetti Cuts to die cut some striped BG patterned paper
and layered a circle diecut over top,
in which I stamped the sweet polkadot pumpkin from Forever Fall.
I masked the sentiment (also from  Forever Fall) with washi tape so I could stamp it in two colours.

Be sure to head on over to the Reverse Confetti blog to see
the other designers' takes on the sketch and to play along, if you'd like.

I'm also linking this card up to this week's
Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge: Anything Goes.

Before you go, I just wanted to share a fun contest that
Paulina Nakamura of Pretty Pink Posh is having on her blog today....

She's announcing a talented new design team member and
is having a contest where you match the Pretty Pink Posh designers
to the projects in the photo above.
The correct guesses will go into a draw to win
a $50 Pretty Pink Posh gift certificate!
Click here to check out the details and play along.

Did you want a hint as to which one is mine?
It uses my favourite colour. :)
