Altenew January Inspiration Challenge

Today, I have a card to share that I made for the

Altenew January Inspiration Challenge:

I decided to use my Fantasy Floral stamps and dies to make my card:

I stamped my blooms in Altenew Inks: Soft Lilac, Lavender Fields, Deep Iris,

Midnight Violet, Mango Smoothie, Warm Sunshine, Sunkissed & Orange Cream,

as well as PTI's Simply Chartreuse & Ripe Avocado.

I stamped the sentiment from Build A Bloom: Camellia in 

versamark ink on a strip of dark grey cardstock and heat embossed it in white.

Altenew November Inspiration Challenge

Today, I have a card to share for the the 

Altenew November Inspiration Challenge:

I decided to use my Altenew Floral Fantasy stamp set.

I started by stamping my flowers in Altenew Citrus Burst, Fresh Lemon, Maple Yellow, 

Honey Drizzle, Sunkissed, Orange Cream, Autumn Blaze and Firebrick inks

onto their coordinating diecuts.

I stamped the leaves directly onto my background panel using Honey Drizzle.

I stamped my sentiment (from MFT's Handwritten Happiness) in Dark Chocolate ink.

Essentials by Ellen Mix-It Up Challenge: October

Today, I have a  card to share that I made for 

this month's Mix It Up Challenge with Essentials by Ellen,

where we were challenged to pair Essentials by Ellen with Altenew.

Here's my card:

I stamped my image from Essentials By Ellen's Mondo Peonies onto my watercolour

panel and coordinating diecut in versamark, so I could heat emboss them in gold.

I coloured them in using my Zig Clean Colour Real Brush Markers and a water brush.

I did the same thing with the leaves from Altenew's Adore You.

I stamped my sentiment from Altenew's Build a Flower: Magnolia in versamark

onto black cardstock and heat embossed it in white.

I was also inspired by make my card from 

Altenew's October Inspiration Challenge:

CAS(E) This Sketch #235 & Altenew August Inspiration Challenge

Today, I have a card to share that I made for

 CAS(E) This Sketch #235 designed by Chrissy Larson:

I also used the Altenew August Inspiration Challenge:

Here's my card:

I used my Altenew Garden Grow stamp set and, with some masking,
stamped the images in versafine onyx black ink and heat embossed them in clear.
I coloured them in using my Zig Clean Colour Real Brush Markers and a water brush.
I stamped a panel of aqua mist cardstock along the edge with the flowers from the vase
and one of the other birds from the set.

I stamped the sentiment (from Papertrey Ink's Choose Joy) in versafine

and heat embossed it as well.

Some twine along the side finishes it off.

Altenew July Inspiration Challenge

Today, I have a card to share for the the 

Altenew July Inspiration Challenge:

I decided to use my Altenew Build-a-Flower: Camellia stamp set.

I started by stamping my flower in Altenew Blush, Coral Berries & Ruby Red inks

three times -- twice on my card front and once on a diecut.

Then, using a mask, I stamped the leaves in Frayed Leaf, Olive and Moss.

  

I adhered my diecut using dimensional adhesive and

 stamped my sentiment (from PTI's Spring Woods) in Jet Black ink.

Five for Friday

Hi there!

It's been a while since I shared a Five for Friday!
Lots has been going on...

1. First of all, Austin graduated from high school on Wednesday!
I swear it seems like yesterday that he was starting kindergarten....
these years have totally flown by, but I'm very proud of the young man he's becoming.

We took some family photos at home...

And then met up with the grads for more photos at the Research Station.

This is a group of grads who attend our church.

Then, after the grads met at the school for a photo of their graduating class,

it was time for the ceremony.

We were pleasantly surprised to see that Austin made the honour roll!

One of my best friends, Tania, is the vice-principal and she handed

Austin his diploma.

I love this photo of the two of them!

Then, Mrs. Fenn, his principal switched over his tassel.

After the ceremony, we attended the banquet.

And after that, we had safe grad, where I got to deal for poker for two hours.

A very long day -- but a great way to celebrate our graduate!

2. His plans for fall include attending Steinbach Bible College,
as he is enrolled in their worship program.
I love that he is using his musical skills and pursuing a career where he can sing!

3. I apologize if my blog hasn't been as active as it once was.
I love my new job, but working full time definitely cuts into my crafting time.
As a result, I will not be renewing my contract to design for Reverse Confetti
for the next term.
I have really enjoyed designing for RC for the past 3.5 years
and the friends that I have made on the team!

4. And speaking of work, I'm off to Crystal City and Killarney, Manitoba today
to photograph two kitchens that I designed.
The one in Crystal City is my first solo project and it turned out so cool.
And the one in Killarney is a kitchen that I designed to make it work using a display we
had in the front of our showroom.
I'm looking forward to sharing them on my Houzz page.

 5. I have a card to share for this month's Altenew Inspiration Challenge:

One of my co-workers resigned after eighteen years yesterday.

He was my team leader and will be missed -- he had so much knowledge

and was a fabulous designer!

We took him out for lunch yesterday and I made this card for my co-workers to give him.

Ryan loves to garden, so I used my new Altenew Grow Garden set.

With a little masking, I stamped my images and heat embossed them in clear.
I coloured them in with Altenew inks pressed onto my acrylic block, mixed with water
and a paintbrush.
I used Altenew Velvet, which turned a little more red that I was expecting when I mixed
it with water, but I think the end results are fine.
For the lighter shades, I just added more water to my colour mix.
I also used Altenew Evergreen and Forest Glades.

I stamped my sentiments using Simon Says Stamp's Wishing stamp set.

Altenew May Inspiration Challenge -- Take Two

Today, I have another card to share for the the 

Altenew May Inspiration Challenge:

Once again, I used  my Altenew Build-a-Flower: Camellia stamp set.

I started by stamping my flowers onto their coordinating diecuts 

in Altenew Rose Quartz, Puffy Heart and Purple Wine inks.

Then, I stamped the leaves directly onto my background 

in Frayed Leaf, Forest Glades and Evergreen.

  

I stamped my sentiment (also from Altenew's Camellia) in Jet Black ink.

Five for Friday

I realize it's been quite a while since I posted a Five for Friday

on my blog..... 

Life has been busy, especially with working full time, as you might have noticed

by the fact that I'm no longer blogging every day (it actually made me quite sad when I realized that I wasn't going to be able to keep up with posting daily!)

So, I thought I'd catch you up with what's going on in my life lately...

1. My job is awesome!

I'm loving designing kitchens/living spaces for Two30Nine.

I have had four kitchens installed that I have designed.

I'm looking forward to photographing them once they are all complete and 

sharing them with you.

For now, here's a glimpse...

This is part of a new kitchen that I designed in our showroom.

Isn't it lovely?

2. Last weekend, Jonah & Austin went to Calgary with their school choir 

and Jonah's band.

My friend, Tania (the boys' vice-principal) went along, too.

They had a very good time!

Sage and I had to go to Winnipeg to apply for a passport for her,

so we stayed the night at my mom's and had a bit of a girls' weekend:

we met my mom for supper and went to see Going In Style together at the theatre

(very good movie!) and then did some shopping on Saturday.

We went for lunch at Saucers on Academy Road.

3. I've been enjoying watching the kids perform...

Sage and Jonah both played piano pieces in the Morden Festival of the Arts

and Sage performed three poems.

And then, on Tuesday evening, she sang two songs for the Vocal session.

She was asked to perform at the Festival Highlights concert again this year --

she will be singing Be Thou My Vision on Sunday afternoon.

And, this past Wednesday, she performed at her piano recital

and we played a duet together.

4. This week, Austin and Jonah have been performing in their school play:

The Great All American Musical Disaster.

Austin played Bronco Winnie and Jonah played Bob Everlove.

They both did an amazing job!

So fun that they got to do this together! 

5. It's Administrative Assistant Week and my co-workers asked me to make

a card for our admin assistant, Lisa.

Since Lisa is also a photographer, I decided to use my Altenew stamp set

and this month's Altenew Inspiration Challenge to make my card:

Here's my card:

I stamped the camera in Altenew Sapphire ink and versamark and then heat

embossed it in clear.

Then I stamped the sentiment (using my Mama Elephant alphabet stamps)

and the same inks/technique.

I used my Zig Clean Colour Real Brush Markers and a water brush 

to colour them in and matted everything on a piece of RC Aqua Cardstock.

Here's my card:

I stamped my Altenew Watercolour Wonder flower stamps in Altenew Rose Quartz,

Purple Wine, Cosmic Berry and Buttercream.

Then, I masked my flower and stamped the leaves using Papertrey Ink's 

Green Parakeet.

Over top, I stamped my sentiment from Simon Says Stamp's Congratulations stamp set.

Altenew January Inspiration Challenge

Today, I have a card to share for the the

I decided to use my Altenew Bamboo Roses stamp set.

I stamped out my roses & sentiment (from PTI Spring Woods) on watercolour paper 

in versamark and Altenew Espresso ink and heat embossed them in clear.

I coloured the roses and background using my Zig Clean Colour Brush Markers

and a water brush.
