10 Minute Craft Dash #24

Hi there! I'm popping in today to share my card for the 10 Minute Craft Dash Challenge #24, which is to use the colours shown in the photo above.

For my card today, I chose to make a quick "I'm sorry" card-- when I was helping Austin deliver his papers a few Saturdays ago, I'd tossed the paper in a bag onto the one person's steps.... and threw it a little too high.... and it hit the window on their screen door and broke it!! I felt so bad! So I rang the bell and told him I was sorry and that I would pay for it. Well, he left the bill for Austin to pick up a few days later ($38.70! Eek!), so I went to drop off the money and I thought maybe a card to go along with it would be nice.

So, the only "I'm sorry" sentiment I could find in my stamp stash was from the Type It set from Mama Elephant, which made it easy to decide which set I was going to use. ;)

I stamped the typewriter directly onto a piece of Simple Stories patterned paper. I stamped the paper image & the sentiment onto another piece, cut it out and adhered it to my card, after cutting a slit along the top of the typewriter with my craft knife. I popped a dimensional adhesive behind it to raise it up a little.

Since I was doing well on time, I added some stitching. :)

And here's my time....

You can check out the challenge and what the other DT members made for it here. I think you'll want to play along this time, because this is the prize:

Thanks for looking!

You did stitching in less than 10 minutes...
it takes me that long to thread...
and long how perfect the stitches are!
A perfect card for a not so perfect occasion! :)

Hi Leigh! That sucks about the screen door! But the price wasn't that bad! Love this card! The stitching adds so much!

Oh my goodness, your story! So glad that it wasn't more expensive, but what a hassle! This whole experience is proof of what an amazing person you are, Leigh. Seriously, a card (and a pretty one at that!) as an apology to go along with the money.... remind me again why you must live so far away?! :) Every post and email makes me want to meet you even more!

This card is so lovely- love that you stitched on the chevrons! You're such a pro with that sewing machine!

Simply amazing. I haven't a clue how you could add stitching on a 10 minute card. I cannot even do a ten minute card let alone add the stitching. This is adorable!! You ROCK!!
