Fusion #18

When I saw Fusion #18 Challenge, I knew it would be a great opportunity
to make a card for a friend using my PTI Scent-imentals set.
I decided to use the inspiration photo and the sketch.

Here's my card:

I'd started off with a soft stone mat stack but ended up smearing my stamped sentiment.
I was happy with how I'd stamped the cup & the coffee in it,
so I used my new Scent-imentals dies to diecut it.
Then, I layered it on the black mat stack, which looked even better.
I heat embossed the sentiment with white embossing powder.

For the heart on the coffee cup, I heat embossed it with red zing powder on black cardstock
and then diecut it.

I impressed the background with my PTI Simple Stripes impression plate and added some banners cut with Get a Handle on It from some Studio Calico patterned paper.

I'm also linking this card up for the Simon Says Stamp Challenge: Anything Goes.

Thanks for looking!

Fabulous card! With the luscious colors and that retro-looking font, your card reminds me a roadside diner. I can hear that bubble-gum smackin bouffant waitress yelling, "one dirty water yum-yum and make it moo."

Yes...I got all of that from your card. :)

What an adorable card Leigh! I really like how you "fused" both the sketch and the inspiration piece together. I love how the mat stack gives that "chalkboard" appeal (which I totally envision in a coffee shop).

May have to start playing around with these fusion challenges. They look like a lot of fun!

Awesome card.

Great colour scheme. The black mat stack and white embossed sentiment give your card a blackboard look - something you might see at a coffee shop.

It totally sings on the black mat ... and I can see that in the photo inspiration. Your wonderful card really is a "perfect blend" of the photo and sketch. Thanks so much for joining the FUSION challenge, Leigh!
