New Pretty Pink Posh store

Paulina has opened her new Pretty Pink Posh store!

In honour of this occasion, she's asked her DT to share a project using 

"lots of Pretty Pink Posh." LOL!

Well, I ended up making two projects, since my first one had some Pretty Pink Posh on it,

but not enough to be considered "lots."

So, I made a second card, using some Woodlands Mix sequins

and some Espresso sequins.

Here it is: 

To make my card, I die cut PTI's Mighty Oak cover plate from 

some Simon Says Stamp woodgrain card stock.

Then, I ran the cover plate through my big shot with a piece of white card stock with my

embossing pads, so I impressed the image onto the card stock.

I added some adhesive and started glueing down the sequins.

I'm not going to lie.... this took a long time!

I cut a strip of vellum and heat embossed my sentiment (from Wplus9's feather set).

I adhered the woodgrain card stock over the sequins using some dimensional adhesive.

Here's a close up of the sentiment:

I love how it shimmers in the sunlight!

And here is my other card, the first one I made, which doesn't have as

much Pretty Pink Posh, but I still really like it.

I made it for Taheerah's Cure For the Monday Blues Challenge #2,

which was to use this photo as inspiration.

I loved the soft butterflies on the wall!

However, for my card, I decided to use some of my feather stamp sets instead.

I started with a soft stone background and stamped my feathers 

(using WMS's Fine Feathers & Papertrey Ink's new Feather Finery stamp sets.)

I added the sentiment from the WMS set and the stamped circles from the PTI set.

Then I added a trio of Sand sequins to finish it off.

CAS(E) This Sketch #62

Today, I have a card to share that I made for
 CAS(E) This Sketch #62 by Julie Day:

With this sketch, I decided to make a card for one of my Sunday School students, 

using some Echo Park patterned paper and my Big Ticket Basics stamp set and die from PTI.

Here's my card:

I started with some Echo Park patterned paper for my background and for one of my ticket strips.
I decided to tuck a second cardstock ticket strip underneath the top one for a little dimension.

To accompany the card, I made some cookies (the recipient's favourite)
and decided to have them coordinate with the card.

Guest designing for Top Dog Dies

A little while ago, I was contacted by Top Dog Dies, 

and asked if I'd like to work with some of their products.  

Um, yes, please!

You may not know Top Dog Dies.  It is a new online store that offers their own brand of wafer-thin and steel-rule dies, along with dies from brands you already know and trust, including My Favorite Things, Sizzix, Savvy Stamps, and Cheery Lynn Designs.  Tog Dog Dies is also the leading U.S. retailer for Tattered Lace, a new line of intricate dies designed by U.K. designer Stephanie Weightman.

One of the projects that I'm sharing today is a mini-book I made using their Heart Mini Album die.

I decided to make it about all of the things that I love.

For my album I used a mix of Crate Paper and Fancy Pants patterned papers.

For my cover, I used a Reverse Confetti Love Note heart die, backed with a 

Crate Paper embellished heart.

The arrow is part of the Heart Mini Album Finishers Set, which I die cut from some 

smokey shadow cardstock. The decorative brad is My Mind's Eye.

The alphabet dies that I used on the cover and throughout the mini book are Mama Elephant.

I'm not sure what happened, but I ended up cutting my back panel incorrectly, but I was able to salvage it by die cutting it again with the large heart die from the Heart Mini Album Finishers Set

-- so fabulous that they are exactly the same size!

Top Dog Dies also sent me an adorable Onesie Card die, 

which I used to make a baby card for Jonah & Sage's kindergarten teacher.

I die cut the Onesie Card die from sweet blush card stock.

I diecut a heart (using Reverse Confetti's Love Note dies) from the front panel.

I stamped the sentiment from Reverse Confetti's Lots to Say stamp set.

Then, I die cut the onesie liner from Onesie Card Finishers Set and layered it under the front panel.

I traced the heart with a pencil and proceeded to fill it in with some Pretty Pink Posh sequins. 

Then I adhered it to the front panel using some dimensional adhesive.

My favourite thing about this card?

The back.

I stitched on some ribbon to give it a ruffly bum!

Another Onesie Card Finishers Set die cut adhered to the inside 

hides the stitching.

Treat bag tags

I found a photo of these tags that I meant to share a while ago...

I decided that even though Austin is in high school now,

his teachers deserve to know how much I appreciate them.

So, I made them some butter crunch and brought it along to our parent-teacher conferences.

Most of them seemed to appreciate them..... I don't think they get very many treats!



I was totally inspired by the tags that Laura Bassen made here 

and I had to copy her idea.

For my tags, I used my Simon Says Stamp thanks die,

along with some My Mind's Eye patterned paper.

The tags are Papertrey Ink's tag sale #5 die.

Like Ctrl-C & Ctrl-V

Today I have a card to share that I made using

some Reverse Confetti stamps & dies. 

I chose some My Mind's Eye patterned paper that had a bit of a "techie" feel to it--
to go with my sentiment -- and die cut it using the Double Edge Scallop Border.
I stamped my sentiments from Go Together in different coloured ink to coordinate.
I die cut the two hearts from Love Note
and added a little bit of twine to finish it off.

PTI January Blog Hop

Once again, I'm playing along with the Papertrey Ink Blog Hop this month,

where the challenge is to create a card only using the color pink

with the option to use neutrals (such as white, cream, gray, black or kraft).

For the blog hop,

I created both a card and a layout.

I was inspired by the pillow in the bottom left-hand corner to create my card.

I trimmed my background cardstock in pinks with curved edges, just like the pillow.

Then I added stitching.

I diecut a vellum panel using the new PTI heart cover plate, 

which I layered over top and stitched in place along the top.

I stamped my sentiment (from Wonderful Words Additions) in versa mark 

and heat embossed it in white.

For the "you", I diecut it several times, twice in pink and a third time in white and stacked

the words together before adhering them to my card.

A few Pretty Pink Posh Sweetheart Mix sequins finish it off.

For my layout, I decided to scrapbook a photo of Sage

sitting under my scrapbook table, playing my iPod touch.

I used a mix of My Mind's Eye patterned papers, both 6x6 & 12x12.

I diecut my title using PTI bookprint lowercase alphabet dies.

I used my PTI The Sweet Life dies to diecut some MME patterned paper.

Then I added some Pretty Pink Posh Sweetheart Mix sequins.

I love how these look scattered on the page!

I diecut the tag using PTI's Tag Sale #7 and added

my journaling with my typewriter.

For the bow, I used some twine from the 

Pretty Pink Posh Valentine Embellishment Kit (which the sequins come in, too!)

A trio of baby cards

I was asked recently by a woman at my church if I would make some cards 

for an upcoming baby shower.

Six new moms were being honoured and they wanted me to make a card for each of them.

Of course, I said yes.

(Any excuse to make a card, right?)

Well, I went looking through my stash of cards to see if I had any on hand and I found these three.

Since I needed one girl card and five boy cards, these three would work perfectly.

Now, I only needed three more.

I decided to go with the same colour scheme and use some of the same patterned papers.

I also decided it would be fun to pair my new PTI hearts cover plate with a sentiment from one of my favourite sentiments stamp sets -- Reverse Confetti's Lots to Say.

I thought it would be fun to add an animal to each one.
So I used my Lawn Fawn Into the Woods stamps
and paper pieced two foxes and a raccoon.

CAS(E) This Sketch #61

Today, I have a card to share that I made for
 CAS(E) This Sketch #61 by Julie Day:

Here's my card:

I used my Papertrey Ink City Scene stamps and some masking to stamp the background.
I then die cut some of the City Scene buildings and stamped them, adhering one directly to the background and the rest with dimensional adhesive to give the illusion of dimension.
A little inking on the background makes me think of a golden sunrise.

The sentiment is from Wplus9's Valentine Wishes.
