CAS(E) This Sketch #179

Today, I have a card to share that I made for
CAS(E) This Sketch #179 designed by Chrissy Larson :

Isn't it gorgeous?
Here's the card I made with it.

I started by stamping the wreath from PTI's Twig Wreath stamp set onto my background in classic kraft ink.
Then, I stamped the sentiment (from PTI's Phrases & Praises) in Altenew Dark Chocolate
and Coral Berry.

I stamped the flowers and leaves (from Wplus9's Freehand Florals in Altenew's Blush,
Cotton Candy, Coral Berry and PTI's Simply Chartreuse and Limeade Ice
onto their coordinating diecuts.

Visit CAS(E) this Sketch to see the rest of the DT's takes on the sketch
and to play along, if you'd like.
You have until Thursday, July 7th to link up your card.

Oh, and before you go, I just wanted to share a little
bit of exciting news...

I hit 1000 followers on my Instagram account yesterday! :)

Casometry Challenge 2. Make five: secret final

I've had so much fun playing along with Anna's CASometry Challenge 2. Make 5.
where she challenged us to choose one stamp set and make five cards using it.
You can see my first, second, third and fourth cards that I made
for the challenge here, using Papertrey Ink's Spring Woods stamp set.

Well, we're in the Final Stage of Anna's Challenge  and there's a secret aspect.
Anna challenged us to choose a card from this Pinterest Board
to CASE to make our card for the final stage.
There were so many fabulous cards that I had a hard time choosing.
In the end, I decided to CASE two cards for the challenge.

Isn't it sweet?
I just love the blue dry brushing Keeway did on her card behind the owl!
I decided to mimic this by using my Papertrey Ink Brushed Off stamp set.

Using my MISTI, I stamped the Brushed Off stamps in PTI's Blueberry Sky.
Then, I used my blending tool to sponge on a bit of Enchanted Evening ink
along the top of the stamps for a faint ombre effect.

I stamped the bird and branch from Spring Woods in black, Blueberry Sky and
in Altenew's Peach Perfect and Arctic.
The sentiment is also from Spring Woods and I stamped it four times in black.

The other card I was inspired to CASE was this one by Vilena Krishna:

Isn't it fun?
I love the colours and the sun rays, so I pulled out my PTI sun beam stencil
and blended ink onto it using PTI's Bright Buttercup.

I stamped the branch in Altenew Velvet and PTI Green Parakeet.
I sponged some Bright Buttercup onto my flower stamps before stamping them.

The bird is stamped in Bright Buttercup, black and Green Parakeet, with
som PTI New Leaf sponged onto the stamp to add a bit of shading.
The sentiment is from Studio Calico's Sending You Sunshine stamp set.

Thanks again to Anna Kossakovskaya for posting such a fun challenge --
I had a great time playing along!

Happy Birthday to my mom

Today is my mom's 80th birthday.

My brothers and their families came from B.C and Montreal
to visit this past weekend and we had such a great time!

I really wish we lived closer together -- they are all so fun and wonderful!

I wanted to share the card that I made for her birthday.
I was inspired by the Butterfly Reflections Ink June Mood Board to create my card.

Isn't it fun?
I decided to use my new Flourish stamp set from Concord & 9th to make my card.

I stamped the flowers and leaves in PTI's limeade ice, aqua mist,
tropical teal, berry sorbet and pure poppy.
I stamped the centres to the blue flowers in versamark and heat embossed
them in Zing! red embossing powder.

I trimmed a strip of navy blue cardstock and heat embossed my
sentiment (from PTI's KIS: birthday) in white.

We all celebrated together on Sunday, but Jonah, Sage & I will be driving
to Winnipeg this afternoon to join my twin brother and his wife
to take my mom out for supper.
You can never have too much celebrating, right? ;)

End of the year treat bags

Well, school is almost done for the year --
I cannot wait for summer to begin!
It is my habit to make treat bags of butter crunch for
my kids' teachers as end of the year gifts.
We counted them up and between Jonah & Sage,
they had nine teachers to whom they wanted to give butter crunch.
So we made a quadruple batch and put them in bags
and I made tags to go with them.

I used my PTI Tag Sale #5 die to diecut the nine tags from
stamper's select white cardstock.
Then, using my MISTI (ah, my wonderful MISTI that makes
quick work of mass producing projects!),
I stamped the largest popsicle from PTI's Summer Sweetness,
in either PTI Limeade Ice, Orange Zest or Altenew Midnight Violet.
To get a watercolour look, I spritzed my stamp with water
after inking it up and before stamping it.

I stamped the details (the ridges and the droplets) using the same colours
and the same technique.
Jonah and Sage are in French immersion, so I made tags for
their three teachers who teach them in French, using
the sentiment from PTI's Fresh Floral Wrap stamp set.

I stamped three more using one of the fun sentiments
from Summer Sweetness.

And, three more using another sentiment from Summer Sweetness.

Celebrate Today

Today I have a card to share that I made using my  PTI Colour Pop Florals kit.

I started by stencilling & stamping on one of the pieces of patterned paper from the kit.

I diecut two of the words (also from the Colour Pop Florals kit)
from white cardstock, stacked them together and adhered them to my card.

Inspired By All The Little Things #21 & Papertrey Ink June Blog Hop

Today, I have two cards to share.

The first one is for Inspired By All the Little Things #21:

I was inspired by the bouquet of flowers on the blue background to make my card.

I really liked how, in the inspiration photo, there were yellow flowers at the top and pink ones at the bottom, so I created my card the same way, using my Wplus9 Freehand Florals stamps and dies.
I did stamp one flower onto my background and then added blue around it using
aqua mist and hawaiian shores pressed onto an acrylic block, water and a paintbrush.

I stamped my sentiment using a stamp from PTI's Winter Woods.

Visit Inspired By All the Little Things to see the rest of the DT's takes
on the inspiration photo and to play along, if you'd like.
You have until Thursday, June 30th to link up your card.

And my second card is for the Papertrey Ink Blog Hop.

Our challenge was to use this beautiful photo as inspiration:

Isn't it fabulous?
I was inspired to use my Floral Sketches stamp set to create my card.

I started by stamping my flower and the "Have" sentiment (from the Inspired: Faith
stamp set) in versamark onto a piece of watercolour paper
and then heat embossing them in white.
I inked up the coordinating solid images in different colours
and spritzed them with water before stamping them.
With a paintbrush, ink pressed onto my acrylic block and water, I added
the blue for the background.
I also flicked some of the watered-down ink onto my card.

I diecut the Faith die twice from white cardstock, stacked them
together and adhered them to my card.

Inspired by a Wooden Seaside Sign -- Take Three

Recently, I found some fun "seaside-themed" wooden signs on Pinterest.
They were great inspiration to make some cards
using my new Reverse Confetti Seaside stamp set.
I shared one of them here for the Reverse Confetti June New Release Countdown
and another one here for the Reverse Confetti New Release Blog Hop
and thought I'd share a third one today.

Here's one of the signs that inspired me:

I loved the ombre backgrounds, which reminded me a of piece
of Papertrey Ink patterned paper that I had in my stash.

I decided that instead of leaving the silhouettes in white, however,
that I would stamp them in Wplus9 Hayride using my Seaside stamps
on their coordinating Seaside Confetti Cuts.
I added some dry brushing with cream coloured acrylic paint
to add to the "weathered wooden sign" look.

I stamped the sentiment using "Waving Hello" from Seaside
and "New Baby" from Whole Lotta Happy.

Curtain Call Inspiration Challenge -- Tasty Tropics -- Take Two

I have another card to share that I made using the current

I started thinking about tropical items and pineapples and flamingos came to mind.
So I pulled out my Reverse Confetti Fabulous Flamingo
& Pineapples Aplenty and combined them to make my card.

I stamped the Fabulous Flamingo onto its coordinating
Fabulous Flamingo Confetti Cuts in Wplus9 Sweet Gelato and Delicata Golden Glitz.
The Pineapples Aplenty was stamped onto its coordinating
Pineapples Aplenty Confetti Cuts in Golden Glitz and PTI Green Parakeet.

I stamped the border using one of the leaf stamps from Rose Garden.

Remember, there's still time to play along with this
 Curtain Call Inspiration Challenge.

Merci Beaucoup

Recently, Sage's teacher requested a card from me.
Every year, the students in the French Immersion program
have a French Monitor who comes from Quebec to
help our students with their French.
This year, they had Madame Roxanne.

It was Madame Roxanne's last day,
so Madame Andrews (Sage's teacher) asked if I could make
a "merci" card for Madame Roxanne.

I immediately thought of using my PTI Floral Wrap set,
because it has a gorgeous "Merci Beaucoup" sentiment.

My initial plan was to stamp all over my back panel with
the Merci Beaucoup sentiment, but when I was done,
there were some smudges on the right hand side.
So instead, I decided to use it as a border (waste not, want not!)

I stamped the bouquets on their coordinating diecuts
and adhered them to my card, stamping the sentiment
on the front panel,
A button and twine finishes it off.
