1 card, 2 layouts

I have a card and two layouts to share this afternoon. The card and my first layout are for the Waltzingmouse Pyjama Party

My card is for the In the Background challenge to use a background stamp, the Tickle Me Silly challenge to use a feather & it's also for the Bedtime Sketch:

I used my WMS Woodgrain background stamp and Fancy Feathers set. The card stock, button, twine and stamped sentiment, from Boutique Borders: Birthday are all Papertrey Ink.

My layout is also for the In the Background challenge, where again, I used my WMS woodgrain stamp, in fresh snow on my kraft cardstock background. I used Simple Stories patterned paper.

I cut out my title on my Silhouette.

I diecut two tags using my PTI Tag Sale #7 die. I stamped on them using my WMS My Island stamp set. (I included four elements from nature (sun, island, sea & trees) for the 2Peas CHA challenge: Four Elements from Nature.)

And my last layout is for the 2Peas CHA Challenge: Three Pieces of Memorabilia.

My kids participate in our town's annual Festival of the Arts and I like to scrapbook the ceritificates they get along with their photos. Unfortunately, the certificates are a burgandy purple colour and hard to scrapbooking.

I noticed that some left over Basic Grey and Pebbles patterned paper I had on my scrap table matched the certificates, so I used it to make my layout. I made a pocket so I could tuck in the certificates.

Once again, I cut the title on my silhouette. I handwrote my journaling and added some Wplus9 Fresh Cut Florals stamps and die cuts.

Be happy.

I posting for the second time today to share a layout that I made for the Waltzingmouse Pyjama Party  that's taking place this evening. It's for the In the Background challenge to use a background stamp. I used my WMS woodgrain stamp, which I stamped twice on some white card stock, heat embossed it with white embossing powder and layered it under a Simple Stories transparency.

I used some new Simple Stories patterned paper and stickers. Here's a close-up of my embossed card stock:

And here's a close up of my embellishment (I layered some SS stickers over each other and added some PTI buttons and twine.)

I also made this layout for two of the 2Peas CHA Challenges: Six Layers and Seven New Products.

A couple of layouts

I've been making so many cards lately for the Summer Card Camp 2 class I've been taking, that I haven't been making many scrapbooking layouts. When I saw that 2Peas was having a CHA online crop, I thought I'd play along.

They have ten challenges posted on their blog here. The first layout I made is for Challenge #1: One colour you love.

I decided to scrapbook a photo of my remodelled scrap space, since I'd painted the walls my favourite colour: aqua mist. I used some Lily Bee & Dear Lizzy patterned pape & PTI cardstock (white, aqua mist).

I cut the title out on my silhouette.

I cut the jar out of the back of the sheet of Dear Lizzy patterned paper, wrapped it with some twine and added a button.

My next layout is for Challenge #2: Two people.

I scrapbooked a photo of Jonah & me, that Sage took of us on Canada Day. I used some Echo Park & Dear Lizzy patterned paper (this I'd cut out of the back of my first layout.) Again, I cut the title out on my silhouette, using PTI Winter Wisteria card stock.

Here's a photo of my journaling:

And here 's a close-up of the list he typed up (isn't it sweet?)

I looped some twine and added some buttons. I used my PTI double-ended banner die & some PTI gold shimmer card stock. On it, I stamped some sentiments from PTI's Fabulous Frames stamp set. The original stamp said "This is the life", but I selectively inked it and added the "fabulous" stamp at the end.

Five for Friday

Well, this week has been a pretty busy one!

1. On Sunday afternoon, I took the kids to the MTS Centre in Winnipeg to see the Phineas & Ferb Live show. They'd never been to anything like it before and they all loved it!

We had great seats and the kids just had such a blast-- this was a huge part of their Christmas gift this year, so I was super thrilled that they all had such a great time!

2. On Tuesday, I volunteered in Sage's class to help out with the garage sale the French Immersion Grade 3 & 4 classes put on every year (all of the proceeds go to Christmas Cheer). Sage and I were gift wrappers-- so fun to hang out with my best girl!

3. 'Tis the season for Christmas concerts! On Wednesday evening, Jonah & Austin sang with their choirs in the EMMS Band/Choir Concert. Austin's Jazz choir sang three songs (Austin is in the middle, first row in this photo):

And Jonah's Noon Choir also sang three songs. They both did such a great job! I tried to get a photo of the two of them at the concert, but it didn't turn out, so I snapped this one when we got home, in front of our tree. The boys in black.... hee!

4. Then, last night was Sage's grade 3/4 Christmas concert. She did a wonderful job, as well! She's so keen and animated when she sings-- very fun to watch! I took this one before the concert. Don't her curls look pretty? I took her to get her hair cut after school and she got it done, complete with curls and glitter!

5. And, finally, something on the crafty side...

I made a card yesterday to accompany some treats I wanted to bring to our town library staff. I decided to use this week's Sketch Challenge at 2Peas:

I used some a 6x6 Crate Paper patterned paper pad that I bought last month-- such fun patterns-- as well as some Papertrey Ink cardstock (rustic cream), stamps (stylish sentiments:holiday) and dies (snowflake medley), buttons & twine.

I'd originally put the snowflakes on my card following the sketch, but then, on a whim, I piled them one on top of the other and decided that I liked it better like this.
