MFT Wednesday Sketch Challenge 276 & Colour Challenge 43

Today, I have a card to share that I made using the

MFT Wednesday Sketch Challenge 276:

I also used the MFT Colour Challenge 43:

I decided to use my Cat-titude set to create my card.

I started by running my MFT Stitched dies through my diecutting machine to impress them

on my piece of watercolour paper.

I was inspired by Betsy Veldman's card and how she did the same technique

with similar dies and added watercolour ink to her stitched lines, 

so I decided to do the same thing.

I smoothed some ink and water onto my panel and stamped the cat from Cat-itude onto the front.

I stamped it onto another piece of watercolour paper, coloured it in with a mix of ink

and water and my Zigs, the fussy cut it out by hand and adhered it to my card front.

I stamped the sentiment (from Reverse Confetti's Bear Hugs) onto a strip of vintage jadeite cardstock.

Muse Card Challenge #161

Today, I have a card to share for Muse Card Challenge #161

where we were being inspired by this card by Anita Bowden:

Isn't it cool?

I was really taken with her cool diecut technique here, so that's what inspired my card.

(By the way, please forgive me for the poor lighting. It's been raining here all day.)

I started by diecutting my Pretty Pink Posh stitched rectangle die from white

cardstock and then from that, I diecut my Papertrey Ink Spring Woods branches.

I blended ink onto my stitched rectangle using my blending tool.

I diecut the Spring Woods branches again from another piece of white cardstock

and stamped them with their coordinating stamps.

I diecut the bird (also from Spring Woods), stamped him in Altenew Soft Lilac

and PTI Hawaiian Shores and adhered him to my card.

I stamped my sentiment from PTI's Winter Woods.

Inspired by all the little things #11

Today, I have a card to share for 

Inspired By All the Little Things #11:

Isn't it pretty?

I thought of stamping a cupcake, but decided to do something a little different instead.

I thought of how the cupcake could be flowers and the stand could be a floral wrap

and came up with this:

I diecut one floral wrap and four bunches of the flowers using the PTI Fresh Floral Wrap-Ups dies

and stamped them with their coordinating stamps using Altenew's Frosted Pink

and Delicata Silvery Shimmer ink.

I blended a little bit of the Silvery Shimmer ink onto the edge of the floral wrap 

before stamping it in versafine onyx black. 

I diecut a circle from PTI's Stormy Seas cardstock and then heat embossed my sentiment

(from Simon Says Stamp's Blessed) in white.

When I first saw this inspiration photo, I immediately thought of using my Reverse Confetti Posted Note Confetti Cuts and Posted Note Sentiments to make my card.

I diecut the clipboard from some Fancy Pants patterned paper, which I also used to mat my card.

I stamped the sentiment, using Posted Note Sentiments.

I added the flowers using Garden Bunch and Garden Bunch Confetti Cuts

and stamped the sprigs from Rose Garden on my background.

CAS(E) This Sketch #168

Today, I have a card to share that I made for

 CAS(E) This Sketch #168 designed by Sam Simpson:

Now, I have to confess, that I often struggle with putting something on a angle like this.

(Even when I started scrapbooking, I hated tilting my photos -- it drove me crazy!)

Anyway, I decided to create a fun card, with a tilt...

I chose a piece of watercolour wonder patterned paper (from PTI) that was in my stash.

From it, I diecut two popsicles (from PTI's Summer Sweetness), as well as from a piece of foam adhesive.

I stamped the sentiment (also from Summer Sweetness) onto a piece of vellum and heat

embossed it in clear, before stitching it to my card with my sewing machine.

I diecut two more popsicles from white cardstock, blended some classic kraft ink

onto the sticks and stamped them.

I adhered these over the foam.

Then, I trimmed the "stick part" off of the patterned paper diecuts 

and then adhered them over top.

PTI's Create Along With Us: April 2016 & The Challenge #68

Today, I have a card to share that I made for this month's Create Along With Us at Papertrey Ink.

I was inspired by this card by Betsy Veldman:

I was also inspired to use this week's colour challenge at The Challenge #68:

Here's my card:

I started by inking the side of my panel with Harvest Gold ink and my blending tool.

I inked up my Songbirds leaves stamp with Altenew Forest Glades ink and spritzed it

with water before stamping it on my card.

I stamped the sentiment (from PTI's Inspired: Lord), in Tropical Teal ink.

I stamped the flowers (from Graceful Greetings) and the butterfly

from the Masterpiece kit using the same technique as the leaves.

I coloured in the butterfly using a paintbrush, water and ink pressed onto my acrylic block.

MFT Wednesday Sketch Challenge 275

Today, I have a card to share that I made using the

MFT Wednesday Sketch Challenge 275:

I decided to use my Cat-titude set to create my card.

I diecut a circle using my MFT Circle Stax dies and blended soft stone

and harvest gold ink onto it, using my blending tool.

I repeated the same colours and technique on a strip of cardstock that I adhered along

the side of my card.

I stamped the cat onto my circle, as well as onto a piece of white cardstock.

On the white cardstock cat, I coloured him in with a paintbrush, some water

and some ink pressed onto my acrylic block.

Then, I fussy cut it out by hand and adhered it over my stamped cat on the circle.

I stamped the flowers and branch from PTI's Spring Woods onto their coordinating diecut

and adhered it to my card.

I stamped the sentiment (also from PTI's Spring Woods) onto the circle.

Reverse Confetti Sketch for You to Try #35

Today, I have a card to share for this month's
Sketch for You to Try at Reverse Confetti:


I decided to use Unicorn Wishes stamp set and coordinating Confetti Cuts to make my card.

I started by diecutting the largest scalloped circle from Circles 'n Scallops Confetti Cuts

from white cardstock and, before smooshing some Altenew Lavender Fields ink onto it,

heat embossing the "magical" & "wishes" sentiments from Unicorn Wishes.

I diecut my unicorn from watercolour paper and painted the mane and tail, with the

same shade of ink, mixed with water.

Then, I mixed some Delicata Golden Glitz ink with water and painted the hooves and horn.

I added more water and painted in his snout.

I did the same technique and painted in the "birthday" diecut from Fancy Words Confetti Cuts.
I rubbed my Delicata Golden Glitz ink onto a piece of white cardstock and used that
to mat my watercolour panel, after diecutting some stars from it first
(using Unicorn Wishes Confetti Cuts and Shakers 'n Frames Confetti Cuts.)

The Card Concept 52

Today, I have a card to share for The Card Concept 52:

I'm not sure why, but the black ribbon in the photo made me think 

of a butterfly, so I decided to use my Reverse Confetti Butterfly Dreams 

to make my Clean & Layered card.

I started with some patterned paper as my background.

I stamped the large butterfly from Butterfly Dreams onto its coordinating Confetti Cut 

-- isn't it striking in black?

A couple of buttons and twine finish it off.

Inspired by all the Little Things #10

Today, I have a card to share for 

Inspired By All the Little Things #10:

I love this photo, but I was a little stumped when I first saw it,

as I don't have any berry stamps in my stash.

But then I remembered that my Lawn Fawn Summertime Charm set includes a strawberry...

I started by stamping the strawberry three times in versamark and heat embossed it in white 

on a piece of watercolour paper..

Then, I did the same thing with the jar from the same stamp set.

Then I stamped the sentiment from PTI's Phrases & Praises, using the same technique.

I used my Zig markers, some water and a paintbrush to colour them in.
