It never fails...

... if I start organizing one area of my scrap space (like my photos yesterday), then I get the itch to organize more.

This afternoon, I went through my stash (patterned papers, alphabet stickers, embellishments) and purged everything that I thought I didn't need anymore. I had a lot of patterned paper that I'd liked the look of online and ordered it, but when it showed up at my door.... hmmm, not so much. (Have I mentionned how thrilled I am that Love is in the Details opened in Winkler and I can go back to buying scrapbooking supplies in person?)

Anyway, so after I'd made up my kits/door prizes, I decided to move things around in my scrapbook area a little. Some things have a new home and it looks so tidy-- I can't wait to get in there and mess it all up again!

Here's a shot of my table. These baskets sit directly in front of where I sit.

I've got my PTI buttons in a container, sorted by colour. Then, in the basket beside that, I have my embellishments: chipboard, decorative brads, journaling tags, metal embellishments, etc. I had these on a shelf below my Big Shot, but I found they were out of sight, out of mind. I did purge quite a bit of things I knew I wouldn't use, but I also found some things I'd totally forgotten about but still liked. I'm hoping if they're front and just off centre on my desk, then I'll remember to reach for them.

I'd gotten too many PTI stamps to fit in one basket, so I had been storing my "seasonal sets" (Christmas, Easter, Fall, etc.) behind the decorative brads in the embellishments basket (along with my 6x6 paper pads), but my regular sets were still feeling tight. When I moved things around I was able to fit in another basket, so I decided to split my stamps in two. In the basket on the left, I'm storing $24 sets. On the right, my $15 & $5 sets.

Beside my stamp baskets, I used to have my four tiered rotating shelf, but I moved that beside the wall and put my file that holds my patterned paper, sorted by manufacturer beside my stamps, behind my caddy that holds my scissors, rulers, pens, etc.

So, you can see, in the corner I have my PTI cardstock files, sorted by colour. And beside that, my Revolving Four Tray Bin from Harbor Freight, where I store my felt, jewels, thread, twine, post-it notes, small tools and ink pads.

Beside my table, I have a cart that we got at IKEA years ago to fill the space in my kitchen where the dishwasher was suppose to go. Then, we got a dishwasher (which we don't use because it doesn't work, but I digress...) so it moved downstairs. Now, it's my diectting station. I store my non-PTI stamps and punches on the shelf behind my Big Shot.

And below that, I store my  newly organized photos. The box beside that used to house my embellishments, but now I'm using it for my 6x6" paper packs, which I sorted by manufacturer.

Before I sign off, I wanted to quickly share a layout that I made using the photos I took of Austin's performance in the Annie musical at his school this past springThe My Mind's Eye August Challenge is to use 10 photos on a layout and since I had ten photos on my collage, I decided to see if I'd have some MME products that would go with them... and I did! Their new line, Nostalgia, coordinated perfectly.

Here's my layout:

I used My Mind's Eye patterned paper and  journaling diecut. I also used Papertrey Ink stamps (movers & shakers sentiments) and dies (tag sale #5, Modern Alphabet Uppercase.)

Here's a close-up of my title treatment:

.... and of my journaling:

Thanks for looking!

Oh it's lovely Leigh. I'm very envious of your space. That little container for your buttons is great. I must keep my eyes open for something similar.

Wow, you organized, AND made a layout. Now that is what I call productive! What a great space (and set of supplies!) you have. It's so fun and interesting to see how others have it set up.

Wow--you are really organized. I'm impressed. I love how everything has a place and is within arms reach. I need to get something like what you have for your inks and also for your buttons. Do you remember where you got your button case?

I'm trying to organize my stamp sets now... and might not use CD cases. I love how you store them in the sheet protectors and piled neatly in the box on your desk. Jelly of your crafting desk :)

Hi, what are your stamps stuck too? Are they inside of that folder. I bought some of those folders but not real sure how they work. Sorry for the silly question but when I saw them on your blog I order some because they take up so much less space then what I have mine in now. They look like they may tear if I keep pulling them open to get them to stick to the inside. Also your blog is wonderful you have a lot of great cards and scrapbook pages.

You've inspired me this week Leigh! Yesterday I went to Staples and get the MS binder sleaves for my dies. (I have to go back and get some more...!LOL) I also updated my Verve binder with them, as I love the little flap! By the way, Verve has a big sale this month, (everything) and you can get verses, some of them under $2.00/US. ThankS~your space is just awesome!
