Five for Friday

1. I have to say that I am totally enjoying our summer!
Last weekend, Austin volunteered at the Anime Convention
in Winnipeg, so I took Jonah and Sage in with us and we stayed at my mom's.
We went to the Assiniboine Zoo on Saturday...

They had a Dinosaurs Alive exhibit that Jonah really wanted to see.

They also had "talks" by the zookeepers every half hour or so
that we made a point of trying to attend.
That way, we got to see the animals a little closer and active.
My favourite was the tigers.

Isn't she gorgeous?

We spent five hours exploring the zoo and had a great time!

2. This week, the weather has been great, so we've gone to the
beach three times (& are returning again today -- I love having a beach so close!)
We've met friends there, which has been fun for everyone.

3.  I've been working on completing my Summer pocket album for 2015.
I was a little "stuck" on it, because I think I felt that I had to personalize
each journaling card.
But this was keeping me from working it.
So, I purchased some Simple Stories and Pink Paislee journaling cards
and used those to put it together.

Here are a few pages:

It feels really good to have this project done!
Now I can start on this Summer's pocket album...

4. Today, I have a card to share for this week's

I decided to use my Sketched Florals stamp sets for the technique.
I was inspired by the following April Inspiration Card colour combo
to make my card:

Here's what I made:

I started by stamping my sentiment from Graceful Greetings on my watercolour panel
in versafine onyx black ink.
Then, I stamped my solid stamps in the colours listed above,
spritzing each one of them with water before stamping it onto the watercolour paper.

Once they were dry, I stamped over them with the coordinating lined image.

5. I'm super excited about this:

Papertrey Ink's Masters Stamp-a-Faire is starting this evening,
so Sage and I wanted to share one of our favourite
projects that we made using PTI for the Friday Night Gallery Reception.
Here's mine:

It's the card that I made for the June Papertrey Ink Blog Hop
and since I did some watercoloring on it, it made me feel like an artist. ;)
You can see the details on how I made it here.

And here's Sage's favourite:

We're looking forward to participating in the challenges tomorrow!

Thanks for looking!

Love your Five for Friday - I've probably said that before! So nice to see you all having a great time. Thank you for sharing your pocket journal - I am thinking about starting one, but a bit overwhelmed so it's nice to see you don't have to go to town with the journalling cards. Xx

It doesn't take long, does it?...For those children of ours to grow up before our eyes! Beautiful family Leigh, and I'm so glad that you're enjoying your summer with them; they'll treasure these memories forever. Your summer pocket album will help them to say, "Gosh! Remember when we....?!!" And your cards are fabulous. But I have to tell you, Sage's card is a real eye catcher. I just might have to CASE that one! Be sure to let her know I'm rather enamored with it!! : ) Bev
