The last of our SAF projects

I just wanted to share the four cards that Sage & I made yesterday for the PTI Stamp-A-Faire Challenges.

Every card that we made was for the Breakfast Bake & Take, where we were challenged to choose one sketch and one colour combo.

First up is Sage's card, which she made with this colour combo...

And this sketch....

(We realized later that she and I had combined the same colour combo and sketch. My card is here-- it's the second card in the post. Great minds think alike! LOL!)

Sage had me cut some cardstock strips for her, which she adhered to her card. She diecut the mat stack #4 die from rustic white cardstock and stamped her coffee cup (she said it's hot chocolate, though) and stamped her sentiment, but messed it up. I suggested cutting another mat stack but in chocolate brown and heat embossing the sentiment. She was agreeable to this, but wanted me to do it-- she was getting tired. I also mixed clear embossing powder with cocoa to make this a scratch and sniff card for the  Whipping Up Scent-sational Cards Challenge. To heat emboss the sentiment, I mixed some of this mixture with some white embossing powder, so it wouldn't be so white.

We're linking her card up to the Simon Says Stamp Kids' Summer Vacation Challenge, too.

And now for my projects....

All three of my cards were made for the Gallon/Quart/Pint Challenge.  I also challenged myself to use each sketch for the the Breakfast Bake & Take, and I had three left. The first card I made used this sketch...

And I decided to pair it with this colour combo (but I substituted the royal velvet for smokey shadow, because I don't have any royal velvet)...

I chose some Crate Paper patterned paper and used it to make the panels. I diecut my Wonderful Words happy die once from patterned paper and twice more from card stock and layered them together to give my diecut word dimension and more stability. I also covered my word with glitter for the Sugar Coated Embellishments Challenge. I diecut some vellum using my double-ended banner die. On it, I stamped a Think Big Favourites #12 sentiment and heat embossed it with clear embossing powder.

My next card uses this colour combo...

And this sketch...

Once again, I used some Crate Paper patterned paper. I decided to make another scratch and sniff card for the Whipping Up Scent-sational Cards Challenge. I heat embossed the kiss with silver embossing powder and then stamped the heart in winter wisteria. I heat embossed the heart with the cocoa/clear embossing powder mixture which darkened the heart, but it still looks purple. The banner was cut using the Get a Handle On It die.

And my last card is another scratch and sniff card for the Whipping Up Scent-sational Cards Challenge, which uses more Crate Paper, this colour combo....

And this sketch, which I rotated 90˚ to the right...

I ran my smokey shadow cardstock through my Big Shot with my woodgrain IP. I diecut my tag using my Tag Sale #7 die and added a tiny tag to the top with some rustic white baker's twine (on which I'd stamped the scratch and sniff sentiment in hibiscus burst. I didn't have any pumpkin pie spice so I mixed some nutmeg and clear embossing powder together to cover my pumpkin.

And that's it. I'll leave you with our closing ceremony photo: Sage posed with all of our SAF creations....

Note the messy tables, the bowls of dye, the cocoa powder and Sage's lovely smile-- all evidence of a fabulous SAF weekend! Thanks to Nichole & the DT for spoiling us so!

Thanks for looking!

She does have a lovely smile, I'm betting she just brightened up your craft room all weekend! What fabulous projects you both made. Before you know it she will be
blogging her own fabulous work!

Great cards, Leigh! Looks like you and Sage had a great "girls" weekend. I have a question for you.. What did you use for the scent to make your Hershey's Kiss? I used cocoa powder. It did not blend well with the embossing powder, meaning that the embossing powder blew off and there are only spots of shine, AND there is no recognizable fragrance. i love this idea, but I'm a little disappointed in the results.
