Five for Friday

1. The kids went back to school this week.

Austin started back on Wednesday, in Grade 11.
Jonah and Sage had meetings with their teachers on Tuesday afternoon
and then went for the full day yesterday.
Jonah is in Grade 8 & Sage is in Grade 6.
They're just growing up so fast....

2. Before going back, Jonah suggested that we do something fun as a family.... laser tag!

The boys had been before with youth & a friend's birthday party.
This was a first for Cameron, Sage & me, though.
It worked out that we were the only five people in there for our session,
which was a lot of fun!

3. We also had our annual Back to School Feast on Monday.

Our feast consisted of homemade pizza, mozza sticks, caesar salad & chocolate cake for dessert.
We spent some time going around the table and sharing what we were looking forward
to in the coming year and suggestions of how we could pray for each other,
which we did, too.
I think it's one of my favourite meals of the whole year. :)

4. With the kids back in school, I've been helping out in our Sunday School,
getting ready for our kick-off on Sunday.
I have the Grade 5/6 girls in my group  -- as of right now,
there are fourteen of them!
We really need some more leaders -- it would be wonderful if someone
else could lead half of the group.
It'll be Sage & my last year in the program -- my plan is that next year,
I'll move up with Sage & the other girls to Junior High.
I plan to enjoy every minute of it....

5. Lastly, I have a card to share for Reverse Confetti Sketch for You to Try #28:

Here's my card...

Sketch for You to Try 28 Leigh Penner @leigh148 @reverseconfetti #reverseconfetti #sfytt #cards

I started with some watercolour paper and inked it up with summer sunrise
& orange zest inks, using the smooshing technique.
I diecut my tag (using the Thanks Tag Confetti Cuts)
and stamped my sentiments (from Walk By Faith).
Then, I diecut the ampersand from Documented Confetti Cuts, as well as from a coaster.
When I adhered the tag to my card, I adhered the coaster diecut underneath,
so it would add some dimension.

I added some twine to my tag and mounted my panel on kraft cardstock.

Be sure to head on over to the Reverse Confetti blog to see
the other designers' takes on the sketch and to play along, if you'd like.

 Thanks for looking!

Your back-to-school photos are sheer delights, Leigh! Those beaming smiles melt my heart every time - and how sweet to see Lucy playing a part, too! Your feast...yum! And yes, a desire for chocolate cake has been sparked! Laser tag: I played that twice and ended up more tagged and lasered then one could think possible! Yeesh! Of course, I adore your card, absolutely!
