It's Monday

Which usually means cleaning, laundry and a bit of scrapping thrown in for fun!

I got some scrapbooking done this past weekend. Online crops are always so inspiring!
Here's what I created:

(with the Just Cre8 January kit)

Kind of an ecletic mix of subjects!

Also, this week at My Scrap Shoppe, the DT members are sharing their scrappy spaces on the blog.... and I'm up first! You can check out my space here.

Thanks for looking!

A picture scavenger hunt

As one of the games during Scrap For A Cure's New Year Launch Party, Diana posted a picture scavenger hunt. She gave a list of things to take pictures of. I thought I'd post my answers here.

Something NEW (the slippers Val gave me for Christmas)

Something RED (my sweater)

A set of three rounds (I actually didn't understand this one, so when I pondered aloud: "What's a set of three rounds?" Sage, who was working on her valentines, heard me and said: "Here's a set of three, Mom." It was so sweet how she was trying to help me, I had to take her suggestion. Dora's head is pretty round! LOL!)

A corner ( near the gold chair in my livingroom)

The alphabet (my current favourite stickers!)

Something Blue (a blanket on my bed)

Something sparkly (the wreath at my front door)

Something hot (a mug of hot chocolate-- perfect for this cold day)

Something cold (my ice cube tray)

The time (my Ikea clock)

My tunes (no ipod or mp3 player for me-- I listen to CDs)

My favourite (my best girl, Sage)
What a fun game-- thanks, Diana!!

Fabulous Friday

Thanks for all the well-wishes about the DT at CMK!! I really, really appreciate your support and encouragement-- it means so much to me!

Well, it's Friday and I am ready for the weekend!!

A few things going on today (other than the fact that I got the cleaning bug-- my living room is clean and the kitchen is almost done. I'm sure I'll peeter out soon, but hey, they kids can clean their own rooms, right? ;) )

1. First of all, My Scrap Shoppe is having their monthly online crop tonight and tomorrow. If you'd like to get a jump on it, you can check out the early bird challenges posted already here.

2. The Inspired Scrapper has their second challenge up on the blog.

3. A reminder that Scrap for a Cure is having their new year's launch and party this weekend.

And because I hate posting without a picture, here's my layout that I created using the fabulous January kit & stamps from Just Cre8.

I created this layout for the Monthly CC challenge which was to create a layout where an element extends off the top or side of the page, which coincidently is also my early bird challenge for the online crop at MSS. ;)

Thanks for looking!

Scrappy News

Last month, I got an email from Diana, one of the co-owners at Scrap For a Cure, asking if I'd be interested in being their Guest Designer for the month of January.

I was quite honoured & thrilled, to say the least.

So, I wanted to post a little sneak peek here of one of the layouts that I've created (so far) with their January kit.

Their reveal for the kit will take place this Friday, January 9th, which coincides with the launch of their new site. And so, to celebrate, they're having a party!

You can check out the details here.

Revisting

my my list for 2008.

Last January, I posted a list of things I hoped to accomplish in 2008. Just for fun, I thought I'd post the list again here and highlight in blue, the things I did.

Lose 20 lbs (and keep it off!)
Go on the Women’s Retreat at church
Go on a spa day with Darlene
Install new carpeting and paint my basement
Do something creative with the canvases I bought
Go on a car trip with my family
Sleep in a tent with my kids
Get a new swimsuit
Make a new advent calendar for next Christmas
Be on time more often
Volunteer regularly in the boys’ classes
Sign up for Tae Kwon Do with Austin
Make crafts with Sage
Do the mosaic puzzle that I got a few years ago
Plant sunflowers in my garden
Go away for a night with some friends
Have friends over for supper
Join a couples’ Bible study/care group
Send notes of encouragement
Be more on top of things
Say no when someone asks me to do something (at least once!)
Get a new bike
Go to reading time at the library with Sage
Walk to school more often
Get a new winter jacket with matching ski pants
Take my kids ice skating
Go to a movie at the theatre
Take a picture everyday (Project 365)
Scrapbook
Go on a date with Cameron—just the two of us
Learn how to download songs from iTunes
Spend time with my kids one-on-one
Learn how to use my camera better
Go to a movie at the drive-in
Spend more time outdoors
Plan another 5km Walk/Run/Ride for the Congo
Participate in #36 by running
Organize my house
Play the piano
Simplify

So, all in all, not bad I'd say.

I probably lost 20lbs: my pattern for the year: I lost some weight, I gained back and lost again and gained back. However, I'm 8 lbs. lighter than I was in spring, so that's something.

The tent thing didn't happen because we don't have a tent.

The sunflowers didn't either, because really, I don't have room for them in my garden.

I'm sorry Cameron and I didn't join a care group or go on a date (isn't that sad?)

The movie at the drive-in is definitely something I want to do this year.

The walk/run/ride for the Congo didn't happen this year, but I did participated in a 10km run in Treherne and ran the whole thing. :)

So, for this year, I'm pairing down. LOL!
I've come up with a list of 5 goals for 2009:

(And yes, I'm aware that I sound like a broken record about the weight loss thing, but this is my year! I just know it!!)

And here's the layout do go with my list:

I used the {Scrap} Pack kit at Just Cre8, as well as some Making Memories notebook paper and a Heidi Swapp butterfly.

Project 366, the album

I wanted to share with you what I did with all of the photos of the day that I took as a part of my Project 366.

I created an album for them using a landscape 11x8.5 album by Maya Road.

Here's my title page:

And the pages to follow are all hybrid. In my Microsoft Digital Standard program, I created an 8x10 calendar each month with the photos I took. I had them printed out and adhered them onto black cardstock and added a patterned paper border.

Scrappy stuff to share...

I wanted to share with you the layouts that I created using the fabulous January kit at My Scrap Shoppe. I love the Christmas papers and embellishments-- especially the Maya Road chipboard snowflakes-- definitely a current fave!

Also, just to let you know that the first challenge is up at The Inspired Scrapper-- it's a good one, so make sure you check it out! ;)

Project 366, week 52

The final post...

Crazy that 2008 is officially over.

But how thrilled I am to have a photo that I've taken every day of it!! (Okay, except for two days.... so 364 photos-- not bad at all!)

Here are the photos from this past week:

Tuesday, Dec. 23rd: Playing Monopoly with the kids in the morning.

Wednesday, Dec. 24th: Taken at our church before the Christmas eve service started.

Thursday, Dec. 25th: My most favourite gifts on Christmas morning.

Friday, Dec. 26th: Playing outside at the farm.

Saturday, Dec. 27th: Doing some after Christmas shopping at My Scrap Shoppe.

Sunday, Dec. 28th: Playing Crazy Families with the kids. (Thanks, Trevor!)

Monday, Dec. 29th: We went to Winnipeg and at Walmart, Jonah found the toy that he'd been looking for. He bought it with the money that Uncle Chris & Auntie Cheryl sent him for Christmas. (Thanks, Uncle Chris & Auntie Cheryl!)

Tuesday, Dec. 30th: My kids are such country kids! We went to Sears and they wanted to ride on the escalator over and over! Too funny!

Wednesday, Dec. 31st: We ended our year with a skating/pizza party and church service at Westside.

Well, that's it for Project 366, I guess.
Once I have all my completed pages in albums, I'll share what I did with my photos.

Thanks for looking!

By the way, I've also posted some ideas for embellishing chipboard snowflakes on the MSS blog if you'd like to check it out! :)
