Five for Friday

1. Last weekend was our town's annual Corn & Apple Festival.
I took Jonah & Sage to it on Friday, because the forecast wasn't good for the rest of the weekend.
I got some fun photos:

On Saturday, we went to the parade in the morning.
This is first time we've been able to watch the parade -- for the past
several years, we've walked with our taekwondo club.

I took this photo before it started (& before Austin joined us).
We managed to watch about a third of the parade before it started pouring!

2. Lucy came to stay with us again last week --
she'll be with us until mid-September.

3. I've been busy painting this week again at our middle school.
I got the doorframe and stairwells painted in both the Grade 7 & Grade 8 wings.
I actually finished everything yesterday, but they'd like me to paint
some doors in the high school now....

4. Sage & I are looking forward to participating in Papertrey's Stamp-a-faire tomorrow.
We've got all of the supplies we need (except we forgot to get popsicle sticks --
and I don't think we can buy those anywhere in town...)

The first challenge was to decorate a white t-shirt.
At first, we were both going to each decorate one,
but we ended up making her tee a team effort.

Sage came up with the idea of making a diamond using the Brushed Off stamp set.
I helped pick the colours and suggested the sentiment we could use.

In the end, I stamped the shirt, using some washi tape to make the outline
of the diamond shape.
The sentiments are from Wet Paint & Wet Paint II.

5. And lastly, I have a card to share for Kara's Pure Colour Challenge at Wplus9:

I combined some stamps to make my card: PTI's Twig Leaf,
Wplus9's Watercoloured Anemones & SSS's Big Scripty Sentiments.

I thought the watercolour anemones would be lovely on a twig wreath.

To finish it off, I added a couple of PTI buttons and some button twine.
Since I used my MISTI to stamp it, I decided to make a second card right away,
but I changed up the sentiment so I could give it to my church's visitation committee.

This sentiment is also SSS -- it's their Blessed stamp set.

I'm also linking this card up to this week's

Thanks for looking!

What a lovely post, Leigh. I always read your "Five for Fridays" and find them most enjoyable. It's delightful to read about your family, and to see what's happening in your part of the world. I'm sure you and Sage will have a great time with the Stamp-a-faire; how fun to do that together. And your card.... Goodness but that's beautiful. Those colors together are just fantastic, and your design is sweet. Might have to CASE this one one of these days. Have a great weekend. Bev
