Five for Friday..... on Thursday

Hey there!
I had my Five for Friday post all planned out....and then realized that this week's Friday is the 5th,
which means it's Day 1 of the Countdown to Confetti for the Reverse Confetti February release.
Since I didn't want to wait another week to post, I decided to just bump it up a day.
I hope you don't mind.... ;)

1. Today marks 5 weeks for me with no sugar or deep-fried foods and counting my calories.
I weighed myself this morning... and am down 12 lbs since January 1st!

2.  I've volunteered to coordinate a demonstration for taekwondo that we'll be performing
tomorrow night at our promotion test, as well as at our city's Winter Fest next weekend.
Austin made a music mix for us and it's really come together!

3. This morning, Austin and I went and toured a school in our neighbouring city.
They offer a culinary arts program that Austin will be applying to attend for a semester next year.
It looks fabulous and the instructors were super!
It's so exciting to be looking toward the future....

4. And speaking of the future....
We're currently dreaming about the summer.
With Austin graduating next June (2017), I'm wanting to make the most of this coming summer,
with a road trip.... to San Diego to go to Comic Con.
We're hoping to get tickets...
However, we need to do this trip as inexpensively as possible, so if there are any online friends out there who live in the San Diego area or halfway between San Diego and Denver, who would like
to host a friendly canadian stamper and her three fabulous children, please let me know!
Thanks!

5. And lastly, I have a card to share for this week's

Now, I didn't make a Valentine's day card.... and I tweaked Melissa's technique a little....

I used gelatos and water to smoosh colour onto my backgrournd.
From this, I diecut the happy diecuts and added extra gelato colour to them,
using Melissa's technique.
I diecut more happy diecuts from coasters and reassembled
the card with the coasters in between, to add some dimension.

The birthday is from Wet Paint and I finished it off with some enamel dots!

Thanks for looking!

I love five for Friday--congratulations of 12 lbs, that's big! Have fun at the demonstration. I am so excited for Austin, that sounds like such an experience. the last year of high school goes so fast so I am glad you are planning on enjoying it. June 2017 my son will have completed his undergraduate--yikes that is crazy! I adore your pretty buttery yellow card Leigh!

So much to be happy, happy and happy about in this post, Leigh! Congratulations on your no sugar/no deep fried commitment; I see a new wardrobe in your future *grin* Your Taekwondo demo: bet it will be amazing! Culinary school: awesome! Good for Austin in knowing where his passion lies. Your trip to San Diego...WOW! Marvelous memories about to be created! I'll put my thinking cap on about places you might be able to stay (have you looked at Vacation Rental by Owner sites or AirBnB? We've had fabulous luck with both...).
