Inspired By All The Little Things #23

Today, I have a card to share for 

Inspired By All the Little Things #23:

I love that black and white striped wall -- it's so bold!

Here's my card:

I started by created a bold black and white striped border by stamping

my SSS Wide Stripe stamp in versafine onyx black ink on a piece

of white cardstock and heat embossing it in black.

I stamped my flowers (from Altenew's Bamboo Rose stamp set) in versamark

onto watercolour paper and heat embossed them in gold.

I coloured them in with my Zig Markers and a water brush.

I spritzed my cardstock panel with water and added gold embossing powder

and heat embossed the droplets.

I stamped my sentiment in versafine onyx black ink using PTI's Songbirds.

Papertrey Ink's July Create Along with Us

Today, I have a card to share for Papertrey Ink's July Create Along with Us,

where I was inspired by these cards by the amazing Betsy Veldman:

Aren't they fabulous?

I combined ideas from both cards to make my card:

I diecut the Shaker Shapes star from my front panel.

On my back panel I heat embossed the flowers from Sketched Florals in white

and then blended ink over top.

I diecut the stars from Shaker Shapes: Circle and blended ink onto them as well.

For my sentiment, I stamped it (from Layered Banner Banter)

onto the vellum and heat embossed it in white.

A few wooden stars finishes is off.

CAS(E) This Sketch #181

Today, I have a card to share that I made for

 CAS(E) This Sketch #181 designed by me :

I had the idea to stamp some flowers on the bottom two thirds

of my card and hone colour block with two colours, according to the sketch.

Well, I strayed a little from this idea when I was creating my card....

I ended up blending five colours of Zig markers with water over my 

SSS Wild Beauty flowers that I heat embossed in white.

I stamped the sentiment (from PTI's KIS: Birthday)

in versafine onyx black.

Ink It Up with Heidi Shafer -- Wild Beauty

I'm super excited about today's post because

I've joined together with fellow stamper, Heidi Shafer of Mapleberry Musings,

with a new challenge that we came up with for each other.

We had been discussing the fact that we both seem

to have stamp sets in our collections that we haven't inked up yet,

so we thought we'd challenge each other to use these sets.

So, on the second and fourth Wednesday of each month,

we'll both be sharing cards that we've made with new sets

that we haven't used yet.

Today, I'm sharing my card that I made using my Simon Says Stamp

Wild Beauty stamp set.

Here's my card:

I originally had a completely different plan for this card.... 

but I'm very happy with how it turned out!

I started of by stamping my flowers from SSS Wild Beauty

and PTI's Sketched Florals in versamark and heat embossing them in white

on a piece of watercolour paper.

Then, I used five different shades of Zig Markers to colour over top,

using water to blend the colours together.

I was going for a messy look on my panel, but then, once I was done,

I wasn't happy with it..... so I fussy cut out my group of flowers

and adhered it to a panel of white cardstock.

I added a strip of black cardstock along the side
and stamped my sentiment (from PTI Spring Woods).
A few PTI rainstones finishes it off.

Muse Card Challenge #161

Today, I have a card to share for Muse Card Challenge #161

where we were being inspired by this card by Anita Bowden:

Isn't it cool?

I was really taken with her cool diecut technique here, so that's what inspired my card.

(By the way, please forgive me for the poor lighting. It's been raining here all day.)

I started by diecutting my Pretty Pink Posh stitched rectangle die from white

cardstock and then from that, I diecut my Papertrey Ink Spring Woods branches.

I blended ink onto my stitched rectangle using my blending tool.

I diecut the Spring Woods branches again from another piece of white cardstock

and stamped them with their coordinating stamps.

I diecut the bird (also from Spring Woods), stamped him in Altenew Soft Lilac

and PTI Hawaiian Shores and adhered him to my card.

I stamped my sentiment from PTI's Winter Woods.

Sharing a little kindness

Happy World Kindness Day!

 

I've been really enjoying the Share Handmade Kindness Challenges

on Jennifer McGuire's blog this month and decided to play along with

this week's Share Handmade Kindness Challenge Week 2: Community.

 

I partnered with Sage and we decided to make some cookies and a card

for the staff at our town library.

She made the cookies & I made the card.

 

 

I decided to go with a "book theme", so I cut out five strips of cardstock

and stamped along the bottom and top of each one with one of the road stamps

from PTI's City Scene and heat embossed them in gold.

 

For the spines of the books, I stamped them with words found in PTI's

Phrase Play 1 & 2 stamp set --- they are words to describe what we appreciate

about the library and the people that work there.

 

 

I stamped the sentiment (from SSS's Big Scripty Sentiments) in versamark

and heat embossed it in gold on the card base, after running it through

my diecutting machine with the PTI Book Print impression plate.

 

For my colours, I was inspired by this month's Pinterest Inspired Challenge:

September Pinterest Inspired Challenge

Today, I have a card to share that I made for this month's 

Pinterest Inspired Challenge, using some Reverse Confetti products.

Here's the inspiration photo:

I love these colours and the geometric pattern!

Here's my card:

I stamped my panel's background using the trio of triangles stamp from

Tinsel 'n Trim (I love using my Christmas stamp sets on non- Christmas cards!)

I stamped my sentiment from God is Good and added some

enamel dots to finish it off.

Make It Monday #214: Stamping with Neutrals

Today I have a card to share that I made for this week's

Make it Monday at Papertrey Ink: Stamping with Neutrals.

I decided to use my Feather Finery set to stamp in soft stone and I also

stamped the large feather in tropical teal, Hawaiian shores & aqua mist

for an ombre effect.

The sentiment is from Think Big Favourites #3.

A few enamel dots finish it off.

Muse Challenge #121

Today, I have a card to share for the Muse Challenge #121.

My friend, Michele Ferguson, is this week's Muse.

I always love her cards and this one is no exception:

Isn't it fun?

I was inspired by the three flower stalks & the sentiment over top of them.

Here's my card:

Instead of flowers, I decided to stamp a feather from WMS Fine Feathers stamp set.

I decided to stamp all of them in three colours to make an ombre effect: 

Altenew's buttercream & warm sunshine and PTI's summer sunrise.

I stamped the sentiment from PTI's Gracious Greetings

and, inspired by the three black flower centres on Michele's card, 

I added three enamel dots to finish off my card.

Virginia's View Challenge #12

I'm so excited to announce that I am guest designing 

(along with the rest of the Pretty Pink Posh DT)

for Virginia's View Challenge this month!

This month's challenge is all about Shaker Cards.

For my card, I decided to make a winter-themed thank you card that I sent to my brother &

sister-in -law to say thank you for the Christmas gifts they sent us.

I used Pretty Pink Posh's Stitched Duos 3 dies &

I mixed some white glitter with Pretty Pink Posh's Silver Shimmer Seed Beeds.

I started with some classic kraft cardstock for my background.

I diecut a piece of aqua mist cardstock with the Stitched Duos 3 die and stamped

the trees from Wplus9's Winter Woodland set in classic kraft.

I used both dies from Stitched Duos 3 dies to create my window

and stamped my sentiment from Simon Says Stamp's Hand Lettered Winter.

I diecut the thanks from pure poppy cardstock using Papertrey Ink's Wet Paint Cuts.

I filled my shaker with some white glitter and Pretty Pink Posh's Silver Shimmer Seed Beeds.
