Papertrey Ink August Blog Hop & CAS(E) This Sketch #187

As is my habit on the 25th of each month, I'm playing along
with the Papertrey Ink Blog Hop.

This month, our challenge was to be inspired by this photo:

Isn't it cool?

I decided to make my card for the challenge using
CAS(E) This Sketch #187 designed by Chrissy Larson:

Here's my card:

I started by watercoloring my background using my watercolour paints.
I had fun mixing colours to get the right shades, blending them onto
my watercolour panel and adding water to give them more of a watercolour look.
Once it was dry, I flicked water onto my page and added gold
embossing powder and heat embossed the droplets.
I diecut the paintbrushes from PTI's Masterpiece kit
and stamped them using the coordinating stamps in versafine onyx black
and heat embossed them in clear.
Instead of stamping the ends, I dipped them into the watercolour paint on my palette.

I stamped the sentiment (also from Masterpiece) onto vellum
and heat embossed it in clear.

Visit CAS(E) this Sketch to see the rest of the DT's takes on the sketch
and to play along, if you'd like.
You have until Thursday, September 22nd to link up your card.

Thanks for looking!

Your card is fab Leigh I love how you gave it the painterly artsy look, great take on the sketch. I was hoping PTI would bring that MIM back like they have a few others. Have a blessed day

It really is the perfect card for the Blog Hop, Leigh. Your background painting is so pretty and I think I'm going to have to try that flicked embossing powder technique that you've been showing off. :)
