I wanted to share a few things today that I did to show my family how special they are to me...
First off, I made treat bags for the kids. I used PTI glassine bags and filled them with Hershey's kisses. Then, I diecut some Echo Park patterned paper with my largest Mat Stack 6 die and added a diecut heart prints die, stamped with a Heart Prints stamp. I cut my banners using the double-ended banner die and stamped with a sentiment from Heart Prints.
Then, this morning, after seeing today's anniversary challenge at Papertrey Ink, which was to create an accessory of some sort, I suggested to Sage that we make her a few clips to dress up her Valentine's outfit. Since she doesn't want to wear them in her hair anymore, I suggested that we clip them to the collar of her shirt.
I used my Papertrey Ink Notched Flower and Heart Prints dies, PTI felt (vintage cream, raspberry fizz and pure poppy) and some buttons (pure poppy, raspberry fizz) & twine. I hot glued some barrettes to the back, near the top and we clipped them onto her shirt. Here are a couple of close ups:
And, as if that wasn't enough, I baked and decorated a cake and some heart cookies for my valentines...
I used my PTI Hello Sunshine dies to diecut some Echo Park patterned paper to make my banner. I used the tiniest heart die from Heart Prints and diecut the heart from every second triangle.
I hope you're having a wonderful Valentine's day.... I'm expecting my kids home shortly for lunch.... I'm going to make grilled cheese sandwiches and cut the centres out with a heart cookie cutter. I also told Jonah last night that since Cameron is taking me out for supper (yay!), I'm going to make heart shaped pancakes for them before we go (it's a surprise from Austin and Sage though.... but I'm sure they'll love it!)
Thanks for looking!

You are such a good Mom Leigh! Great projects.
You are so sweet to make Valentines day so special in your house.
Awwww....everything is so lovely Leigh! I love trying to make Valentine's special for my boys too....although I can't make cute little hair bobs / collar embellishments for them. :-)
Sage is such a pretty girl! Are you going to order Erin's barette die? I can see so many lovely clips for her long hair.
Linda
Happy valentine's day, leigh! Have fun at dinner tonight, and love all the cute touches you created to make this a special day for your family :)
You are a marvel of endless creativity. I don't know how you do it all but all of it is fantastic. Sage's shirt looked super cute accesorized for valentine's day.
Love your stuff, Leigh. I had every intention to dress up the treats I gave the kids and hubby, but didn't. Shame on me, but work has been stressful and I know they understand. Love your cake banner and heart cookies!
In awe of your endless energy and creativity! Love sharing your family's enjoyment of it all!

Hi Leigh - About your question on yo-yo maker, here is a link. It is a plastic disc that allows you to make those perfect embellishments every time. I saw that from Michelle Wooderson's blog (Mish Mash). :) Enjoy! (sorry to reply here, not sure if you will be able to read it if I reply in our blog)
