Papertrey Ink August Blog Hop

Once again, it's time for the monthly Papertrey Ink Blog Hop.
This month's challenge was to be inspired by this photo.

After seeing the photo, I immediately thought of a piece of My Mind's Eye patterned paper
that I'd recently added to my collection.
I decided to use it to create a card and a layout for the challenge.

Here's my card:

I used the patterned paper as my background.
Can you see how a few of the circles are gold & shiny? That's why I chose it!
I created a thin border with some berry sorbet card stock (inspired by the thin border around the card in the photo) & stamped my sentiment (from Wet Paint) in aqua mist and heat embossed the "birthday" in gold.

Next, here's the layout:

I used the same patterned paper and created a thin border once again.
I stamped my title using Wet Paint Alphabets in versa mark and heat embossed it in gold.

This little typewriter is a Crate Paper Maggie Holmes embellishment.
I stamped the sentiment onto it -- it's a mix of sentiments from MM: February.

This tag & gold heart are also Maggie Holmes.
I stamped behind them with my Scribbled Circles stamp.

I was inspired by the envelope in the photo and decided to create a vellum envelope in which to tuck my journaling.

The "sweetheart records" embellishment is Maggie Holmes,
which I adhered to some sweet blush card stock that I'd die cut using Edgers #5 to make the tab.

Thanks for looking!

Oh I love that paper!! It looks equally spectacular on your layout as the card. What super details on your photo page, Leigh. Love how you used the circle stamp in behind the tag.

The polka-dot paper is certainly delightful, but what catches my eye the most about your post is not only the shimmer on the dots, but the dazzling smiles you and your daughter are wearing. The love you two share is totally heart-warming - and thank you exponentially for sharing it with us! She's lucky to have you for a mom, and you, lucky to have her as a daughter! Special, treasured, wonderful bond!!
